LOL was going about it the hardware in CoreServices/Finder.app (which has all the sidebar icons btw). Didn't think it would be the obvious in the Contents of the app. DOH!

Wait, so the desktop wallpaper should be 3200x2000? I'm only seeing 2560x1600. Hmmmm.
The only wallpaper that currently show this resolution is the default lion wallpaper, So even if your in lion none of the other wallpapers are this resolution, anyway no problem im happy to help.

Do you guys think we'll be able to buy merom replacement motherboards for MBP?
maybe. there will def be some service where you can send your MBP in for a week or two and they'll upgrade it. it will void your warranty however, so keep that in mind.

What we should have done was saved while the economy was going good and we could afford to have that money sitting on the sides and now that the economy is bad we should be spending to restart it. Of course the Republicans were irresponsible with their spending under Bush so now we don't have that money we should have saved to fall back on.

It would be a lot harder to cheat a value added tax than income tax.
Plus it would take no time or money to fill out
it would naturally put a larger burden on the rich who spend more
it would be simple to raise/lower
It would naturally exempt charitable giving
it would reduce the tax-code a few thousand pages
It would reduce the need to pay to keep up the IRS program
nobody would be in debt to the IRS
Payroll taxes would be easier to manage
My dad spends two full weeks, and hire personal assistants in order to file taxes as it is. Value added tax instead of income tax would be a blessing
or even a less complicated flat income tax rate would be an improvement

I don't mind paying family mobileme account, but only one of my friends has mobileme and frankly I NEVER use iChat or other services to network because nobody is on mobileme... at least not my friends.

another point (more for future considerations), the way a fight is set up now, if 7 people stumble on 1 monster of the lowest possible level (1/1), then even if the battle is easily won by the group (7 AP vs 1 AP), the end result is substantially a tie (monster dead and one hero dead). this doesn't seem right. you should have a situation of "overwhelming strength", where if there is a great disparity in Ap (2-fold, 3-fold?) than the losing party just dies, without inflicting any damage. or something similar

I doubt this, but here's why it could happen:
1. It's very likely that Apple is maintaining OS X (at a certain baseline of functionallity) on alternative CPUs -- including ARM. They clearly have a history of this and it has proven to be very valuable when they've had to switch.
2. ARM processors of 2013 or 2014 might be significantly more competative with intel than the ones being used in phones and tablets today. I think a lot of the disbelief on the idea of this switch is focusing on the idea that current ARM processors running full OS X, but that's not how it would be.
3. Apple has proven several times that they are willing and able to pull off this kind of architecture switch smoothly. When 68000 CPUs stagnated they moved to PPC. When PPC processors stagnated and intel CPUs jumped ahead they moved almost seamlessly to Intel. If any company can figure out how to do this without a hitch, it's Apple.
4. Cocoa-based apps will move over fairly easily. They're aren't too many important Carbon-based apps left, with some major exceptions. I think Office & iTunes will be Cocoa by then; Apple doesn't care about Adobe.
But realistically, Apple will only do this if there is a significant long-term win.
And I don't see it what that could be... certainly not by 2013.

It is excellent that you can play movies it on an iPod, but I hardly think that is enough to launch "screenplay". Most people want to see a movie on a large screen, not a computer or an iPod. Hence Apple need to release a Media Mac filling this gap. It could be as simple as a Mac Mini with a BTO Tv-tuner and a beefed up Frontrow.

Why use Japanese companies over American Companies. If they are made in China by a Japanese company why would that be cheaper than an American company being made in China? Also if the plants are in Japan they are just as expensive or more to produce in Japan as it is in the U.S. Have you seen any cameras or t.v's made in Japan for the U.S? Japanese people will not buy a t.v or camera etc if it's made outside of Japan, that why they pay much more for products made in Japan. If they are not going to make them in their U.S. make them in China for the lowest cost.
Perhaps because the Japanese supplier is the only company that can make the part well? Maybe they have the secret sauce, or just a serious patent portfolio.
If Apple are sourcing from a company, it's because Apple have done the math and decided that company offers the best deal/quality.

If it is to have an easier time with conversions and what not, then why would I leave a system that I am very familiar with, even if it is not base 10?
I don't believe one system is better than the other. They are just different.
That's sort of like asking, "aside from saving lives, what makes vaccines so great?" Base-10 is exactly what makes metric superior. Having a system of units based entirely on decimals is extremely powerful. You can convert between units simply by moving a decimal point, express very small/large numbers in scientific notation, and clearly see the greater of two numbers with precision clearly expressed.
For example, which is greater? 5/16 or 7/18
And if I've measured a golfball to be 42/25 inches in diameter, what is the precision of my measurement? Expressed as decimals, I know that a golfball measured at 42.67mm is precise to the nearest hundredth of a millimeter.
Now, of course you can express inches, feet, yards, etc. in decimal notation, but then you can't convert them without a calculator. If I tell you that a golfball has a diameter of 0.14 feet, how many inches is that? (Turns out to be 1.68.)
Besides, let's not forget that the metric system has popularity on it's side. Costly mistakes are made every year because units weren't converted between metric and customary correctly.
