Did a search for this to no avail, but here's the scenario:
- Recently switched from AT&T to Verizon.
- Had a jailbroken iP4 before with no issues (used GP)
- Jailbroke Verizon iP4 (4.2.6) with GP out of box.
- Everything works fine with one exception: the camera app takes a solid 30-40 seconds to load (remains on the shutter screen). Once it's loaded, it seems to open fine for the first couple times, but the problem continues to persist.
I have tried removing it from the multi-task bar, as well as once it has successfully loaded, making sure it is in-fact in the multi-task bar, but nothing has seemed to work.
Never had this problem with the AT&T iP4.
And as I'm writing this post, from the camera app still has not successfully loaded, and it's been at least 2-3 minutes.

I was having the same discussion on another forum as well and they all convinced me to stay away from RAID0 for this system, the files are too important to risk for a little speed boost.
The new direction I'm thinking is...
Disk 1: 128GB SSD: Boot Drive
Disk 2: 320GB Clone drive + Time Machine Backup for Disk 1
Disk 3: 2TB scratch/storage drive
Disk 4: 3TB Time Machine for Disk 3
Disk 5: 2TB clone of Disk 3. What do you think, needed?
Then, have an external drive to clone both Disk 1 and Disk 3 that will be off-site.
How does that sound?
You could consider something like this:

Okay, after using it for a little while, the only real complaint I have is that the Personal Toolbar Folder items show up in a rather small font size that looks cruder than it should.
You mean the contexual menu that pops up? Unfortunately, I don't think I can edit the font size. The default theme is the same size. The beauties of a non-native browser...
@mkrishnan:
You can actually shrink the main toolbar icons to smaller so that the toolbar is safari size by "right clicking" on the toolbar and clicking customize. But as luck would have it, the small version of my toolbar buttons are clud still. It's on my to do list before the theme reaches 1.0.

I agree with the general premise.... wash your hands before and after handling anything that is in the public.
...
So quit fretting, and wash your hands often with ordinary soap and water (that anti-bacterial stuff is actually worse for you). And relax.
Thank you. You've summarized my beliefs very well. One should observe basic hygienic practices, but there are way too many people out there who have gotten overly "sterilizer happy". It's silly to think that germs can be avoided 100%. They can't. That's why we have an immune system.

I'm looking at purchasing a workout armband for my iPhone 4, but I don't want to have to take my iPhone out of it's regular case (Speck Fitted case) each time I want to work out. I would really love to find an armband that would allow me to slide the iPhone (in the Speck case) into the armband. Does anyone know of any armband that would let me do this? Thanks in advance!

I've bought a used mac mini as well as a larger/faster hard drive that I plan to replace the existing hard drive with. I'm pretty new with replacing hardware o I'm not sure what the best way would be to install snow Leopard on the new disc.
What I'd like to have is a new drive with a fresh install. I could care less about any of the existing files from the original hard drive so I don't need to back anything up. My question is can I install the new hard drive and then just insert Snow Leopard or do i have to do something else? Thanks for the help.

Surprised this one hasn't been set up yet (I did MRoogle it). Election is tomorrow!
My predictions are:
Scotland, SNP to increase their vote but still not have an absolute majority. Labour have been invisible with their campaign. Lib Dems to drop. Tories to increase but probably won't get a first past the post seat.
Welsh, sorry don't know enough to comment
English Council, Lib Dems to get a trouncing
AV referendum, probably a 'no'. Personally I will be voting for it, it's not a perfect system but anything is better than first past the post.

The first step is to upload the images to the Guides. You can do this by using the Upload file (http://guides.macrumors.com/Special:Upload) link in the toolbox on the left of the Guides. Once uploaded, you can include an image in an article with the following code:
To include an image as a clickable thumbnail, use this code instead:

You can buy Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1 for $99, possibly less.
You can buy OEM for $99, although technically its only supposed to be purchased with new systems. Just purchased it yesterday for bootcamp.. That one I did read.
OEM also has no support and is bound to a single system board.

The iBook was around $20 bucks... so that's already cheaper than a G3 tower and I'm not too worried about replacing its parts as it would be more efficient to replace the whole.
I hooked it up and did the file sharing so I could connect from other macs....
One thing I noticed is that when I tried to play videos on my iMac G4 it stuttered constantly... at first I thought it was the iBook that was inadequate as a server... but when I tried playing the same videos on my MacBook Pro... it ran smoothly, as if it was playing from its native drive.
It didn't matter what type of files they were... H.264, AVI, .mov, mp4s you name it... all the same result... MBP = smooth, iMac G4 = stutter. I checked activity monitor to see if the iMac was too 'slow' to play them.. but it showed only about 50% of the CPU was being used with the rest just sitting idle. Both the MBP and iMac G4 are running on 802.11G.
I also don't think the 100megabit ethernet is a bottleneck since the bigger bottleneck seems to be airport itself. Correct me if I'm wrong... but isn't 100mbps ethernet faster than 802.11G?
Lastly, sorry for the long thread... but the iBook is running 10.3.9, Tiger seems to bring it to its knees... and rightly so. I have 2 hard disks I tried on it... a 500GB FW drive and a 1TB FW drive... they are both formatted for mac... but the iBook doesn't recognize the 1TB drive and says I've inserted a disk that the computer can't read. The 500GB FW drive works just fine. Is there a size limit specifically for iBooks? My iMac G4 can read the 1TB drive but it's running 10.4... If it is the OS, is there any way around it?

Hi Pro's,
I have a MacPro from and lately I have had some annoying experiences.
A lot of applications (iTunes, MS office, even the Installer) stop responding after a little while. The beach ball comes inside
What can be done?
Yes, I have emptied the cachefiles every now and then
Yes, I have restarted with option-CMD-P-R
and yes, it helps a bit, but after some time the stopping starts again.
Who can help me with any advice, or should I just re-install all these applications ( again).
Thanks in advance
Best,
Carlo

Anyone have any info that can help me. This would be my first intel based Mac, since ive always used an dworked on only PPC

Voice control will never work on the iPod touch 2g because while the framework is in the firmware the actual app is not and the app on the 3rd gen and up is compiled for armv7 which means it will not work on the 2g.
aww :( . Oh well, thanks anyway.

I can't speak for the C560R as I have the C710. But, Denon in general has been making great IEM's. You get really bang for the buck and the quality is amazing. I had some Sennheiser's before and I used to send them in every couple of months for warranty as they kept dying. I've had my Denon's for quite a while now and can't complain.

When opening any High Profile HD h.264 video in the new Quicktime Player, opening the file results in very bad graphical issues. Opening the same file in any other video player (such as VLC or MPlayerX) results in no such issues. Here's a screenshot of the issue I'm having.

We are spoiled. 20 years ago, we would have easily paid that for software that did what it did.
I agree..... Great site though!!! Leo Laport interviewed him on TWIT and to say the least, he has put a lot of time and effort into the website. Something like 5 years in the making and over 1-5 (can't remember which) million lines of mathematical lines of code.. or something along those lines..

I was looking at the M-Audio Sonica last night. It's a sound card connected by USB and it has an optical output and can feed a 5.1 Dolby Digital system. All this was $79. Is it good? I didn't hear it yet. I think I'll take the chance though. Requirements? Mac OS X 10.1.5 or higher.
