I think I would want a retina display first. I'd rather wait for battery technology to improve before having an iPad with a shorter battery than my ipad 2.
This. I know it is far from true, and you will be able to turn it off, but rumors of 3D make me want to go buy an iPad 2 right now. 3D will certainly lower the battery life.

I did a quick google search. Seems to me that USB wlan cards NEED to have their own drivers.
And of course the USB wlan sticks a cheap and it followes that the drivers were also developed cheap. Cheap and quality don't mix.

Like the commercial says, Macs are good for fun stuff, but PCs are for working.
I shall (briefly) ponder the wisdom of your words when I'm putting in a 10-hour day tomorrow on the Mac.

And of course - Apple will be teh first OS manufacturer to ship OTA updates "in volumes". (Android OTAs are 60-70 Em Bees - iOS being superior ships 300+ Em Bees!)

For example, Skunk if very consistent in his proposition that the Bible is a revisionist book written by man with a specific human agenda in mind. In many discussions I've seen him post comments about the polytheistic history of the Canaanite people. That's one of his key points and he will continue to say so as he feels it is an important piece of evidence for his view.Would you argue that the Canaanites were not polytheistic?
Would you argue that the Hebrews were not Canaanites themselves?
Would you argue that the true polytheistic beliefs of contemporary Canaanites were not described in the Old Testament?
Would you argue that Israelite and Judaean leaders did not name their sons after El, chief god of the Canaanites?
Would you argue that the prophets were not continually bemoaning the polytheism of their people?
Would you argue that the "War in Heaven" was not the point at which the polytheism of Israel and Judah was transformed into monotheism, when El defeated the other gods and cast them out of heaven?
Would you argue that the angels were not the defeated lesser gods of the pantheon, retaining their memories of godhood in their -el suffixes?
Would you argue that Satan is not the same as Baal/Beelzebub?

Anchor 9
"Within the confines of this low orbit dry-dock, UNSC craft undergo rapid repair and rearmament in support of the enduring war effort. But for the small squads of infantry who now fight over the mirrored interior hallways and open central hangar bay, this platform no longer provides any safe harbor whatsoever whether the close quarters combat is occurring inside or out of its artificial gravitational field."
Anchor 9 allows 2-8 Players to face off in game variants including Free for All, Team Slayer and Team Objective.

"This abandoned shoreline facility bends both sea and sky to an unnatural purpose, but the ground itself has quickly become another all too familiar battlefield. Though the two opposing symmetrical bases may never reveal their ancient purpose, both now offer makeshift shelter and access to strategic routes perfectly suited for small and large scale skirmishes alike."
Tempest supports 8 16 Players and offers a variety of modes including Free for All, Team Slayer, Team Objective and Big Team Battle. Tempest also provides players with a huge Forge palette, allowing them to create new custom map variants that can be shared with the community-at-large.

Can you point out any war in history that meets your ivory tower qualifications?
I've always felt that WW2 was justified though the way we ended the war was unfortunate and un-necessary.
I'm also generally in support of intervening to stop genocide/ethnic cleansing.
Unnecessary Wars:
Revolutionary
War 1812
Civil War
Spanish American War
WW1
Korean War
Vietnam War
Desert Storm (Iraq 1.0) maybe necessary but easily avoided
Afghanistan
Iraq War

Probably the real story is that somebody at Apple thought it would make a great story IF it happened. And, like the proverbial telephone game, it snowballed into people hearing it as if it happened, including the source "close to Apple".
Still, a heart-warming tale. The funniest comment, though, was this by Iceman
"My Wife Said: YES, But Apple Said: NO
She said Yes since day one, but every time I call Apple asking if they have any, they reply: NO!
Insane, isn't it??"
Now, that's the real story!

Ever since the iPhone came out Apple has been trying to get Adobe to write a more streamlined mobile flash player. one that:
1) won't crash and possibly make the phone reboot
2) won't drain the battery too much
3) won't tax the processor so much that it creates a heat problem
4) is secure enough to keep malicious code from running on your phone.
For whatever reason Adobe has been unable or unwilling to do this. So, Yes Apple has created restrictions, but very necessary ones. Anything less would be bad for the end user and for Apple's reputation.

Good replies, Nipsy. Although you completely misunderstood some of my points addressed some points that i wasn't even talking about and also made some points that i completely disagree with.
I might make a proper reply addressing these tomorrow, if:
A. I have the time.
B. I can be bothered.
Oh and i'm well over 18, have a very high IQ and a masters degree. :) That doesn't make me any more likely to be right or wrong than you, i'm just saying, seeing as you made some delightful comments about 13 and under 18 year olds in your aforementioned post.
If you guys don't mind Apple being behind in hardware, then, quite honestly, stop whining about it.
So many Mac users spend hours a day, talking about Apple and what they're doing wrong, but never take any action. If those who care about Apple being the slowest computers on the market are not going to do something about it, then they should shut up about it.
If you're going to whine about it constantly and then get upset with someone who says it's not good enough, then you're just a stupid hypocrit. I realize that you're happy with the productivity your Mac(s) has brought you, and are incredibly loyal to Apple, as well you should be, but if you're going to complain about it, then at least make some attempt to do something about it. or shut up about it.

My girlfriends MacBook, runs at 15 degrees C pretty much all the time.
Here is a screen shot,
Rich.
well thats wrong pure and simple. any type of circuit WILL generate heat unless it is a thermoelectric cooler which this isn't
also about the update, i just got a box like 3 days ago to return it to apple for repair of heat sink. I have had only 2 days since July that the thing has rsd'd on me. The first mabe 1.5weeks ago, being only 2 shutdowns before being stable and the next a week later being 6.
would you guys reccomend still sending it in for repair? i need my computer for work and school but also need it to be dependable. any suggestions?
oh and does anyone know hoe soon you have to mail in your computer after you receive the box?
also i found out there is an apple store in denver(close to where i live). could they replace it there?
thanks for taking the time to read my questions

It would be cool if you could buy comics this way as well. Maybe when you buy a physical comic, it could give you a code to enter at the iTMS (iTunes Media Store) to download a CBR version of it.
Right now, you can download all sorts of comics on BitTorrent as CBR or PDF format, and Marvel (www.marvel.com) has a pretty cool online (Flash-based, I think) comic reader from their website.
I'd love to be able to pony up some amount of money and have, say, the entire run of X-Men at my disposal for reading. And controlling the DRM on a comic would be easier than that of music, or even text.

Why all the focus on Bach in this thread?
Beatles>Jesus>Beethoven>[insert 40 or 50 names here]
>Bach
I think there was a quote from Mozart, who obviously didn't know the Beatles, who didn't rank Jesus very high as a composer, but who put Bach ahead of Beethoven.
