There is no Apple store near Green Bay, WI (nearest is in Milwaukee) so the only real option is the AT&T store at Bay Park Square Mall. I've got confirmation that the store is opening at 7am. However, the manager stated that he did not know how Mall Security would handle people waiting in line prior to mall opening. He did say that during the 3Gs launch people were allowed to park in the parking lot around 4am (said nothing about waiting by the doors to the mall). Since this is an enclosed mall store opening it does have its challenges. Which mall doors will open first, etc.
Anyway, I'm going to be doing repeated drive bys through out the overnight (from midnight on) and as soon as I see people waiting I'm heading on in. Will probably wait by the main doors by the food court. We will see how it goes from there.
I'll be checking with Mall Security on Wednesday to get updated information. I'll post what I find out.

No one really knows for sure, but the timeframe for an update is relatively narrow. If you go by the 6-month update rule, the iBook would get its update in November.
The latest we're likely to see an update (and rumours have suggested it to be more likely) is at MacWorld San Francisco, in early January. If this is what happens, it's very likely that the next iBook model will be a substantial redesign, and not just a speed-bump. Among some of the more interesting rumours have been that there would be a 13" screen in the current 12" case size, that the lineup will move to G4s like the iMac did, and (the most fanciful of them all) we'll see the current 14" iBook replaced with a 14" widescreen model.
No matter what happens, hold on to your money if you want to get the most out of a new iBook; the iBook 700 we have now is great, but it could be the end of its generation.

I can understand why photographers (and stock companies) get worried by this but as a designer I tend to agree with the notjustjay and THX1139.
The best thing you can have as designer is good repeat clients. People who obviously copy / steal work don't get repeat work as it will always lack the context and thinking. We're all ideas magpies - everything we create is based on something else (try drawing an alien drawing that looks like nothing on earth for example) so trying to 'own' ideas is rather difficult. I 'culturally borrow' - you 'rip off' etc etc
Also I find huge copyright slapped across speculative submissions etc vaguely insulting, every time I view it it reminds me forcibly and loudly that you don't trust me - an obviously lores image and perhaps subtle copyright is both sensible and enough in my opinion.

Be specific about what you want to listen for.
There are much simpler ways of listening for some things than kqueues or select(). It's called launchd. You tell it what things to listen for: a change to a directory, a request to establish a socket, a certain time or day, etc. It then runs your program when that event occurs. Your program doesn't run at all unless and until the event occurs. And launchd is a boot process, so it's always running anyway, whether you're using its services or not.
You configure launchd through plists, so you may not even have to write any code. You might be able to use an existing tool, or a simple shell script, that's run when the event occurs.
Not every possible event or condition can be triggered through launchd, but for those that can, it's a huge savings of time and effort.

Help needed!
I am from uk and in states for a month.
I have activated international roaming with my service provider, my handset won't automatically bring up a network.
When I manually search it brings up AT&T and I can select it but the handset won't actually latch on to it, I know there is signal as I have a US handset on AT&T and it works just fine .
I have tried restoring the network settings
I have backed up and then restored the whole phone
I've done the oldest trick in the book in the book and turned it on and off and taken the sim out
My service provider wasn't really that helpful!
My wifi is working fine but just need access to my messages!
Any ideas greatly welcomed!

I looked at the JavaScript code that performs the vulnerability test. It's rather strange-looking, like most code designed to exploit a vulnerability. It uses a big array of X's that it fills then strips out all the unprintable characters.

Does the touch 4G use a different size dock connector or something? I bought a cheap cable off amazon from the OEM shop and it appeared to be exactly like the official apple cable right down to the exact markings but the connector would not fit in the slot, the metal part is too large. I am getting a refund from the company I bought it from but I was wondering if anyone knows of a cheap source for cables that fit in the dock connector of the 4G touch.

Well....the one thing I can say is that these are the prices that those sellers think is worth it for the product. If it won't sell at those prices, the seller will eventually lower the price, so keep watching.
As for the OP's Pismo listing. It does indicate that the seller has refurbished the computer and likely put some time and money into the laptop so perhaps her or she spent $200 or more dollars in effort and equipment and he or she feels $299 is a reasonable price he or she is willing to sell it for. The market will dictate whether he or she is right or wrong.
I have felt the same way in the past when selling some action figures on eBay. All the guides and documentation would seem to indicate that some of the figures I had should be selling for $20 or more yet when I had starting bids over $5, let's say, I rarely had any bites. The only action I had was with auctions starting at 99 cents...and sometimes I got a fair return, most times not. Certainly only 1 out of 20 got me anywhere near where I thought I should be.
So...either these won't sell and the price will drop. Or they will sell to people who want a cheaper laptop and not have the hassle of refurbishing.
(I do agree though, that it's steep and should be a lot lower since one can buy a much newer and faster laptop for similar prices. The market and buyers will dictate.)

Hi!
I have a Netgear SC101T NAS. I used to run it on a windows os but recently I got a new iMac that runs osx snow leopard. As netgear does not make any drivers for me I searched the web and fount out that 'Mac Storage Manager' by newtdata.com would fix it. only problem is that newtdata.com wont open for me. I wonder if anyone have tried this Newt's Mac Storage Manager to confirm that it works. or if anyone knows where to get it? or is there an alternative?
Thanks in advance!
