It's separated into two partitions, one appears to be 209MB, rather than GB, which is pretty small. That's likely for the partition table, so there's nothing to worry about with the capacity, it's 160GB as advertized.

So my MacBook 1,1 is having problems with Wifi dropping and sometimes it can't link to a hotspot. This is an intermittent issue. Is this an issue with the MacBooks airport? And how difficult would it be to replace?

if the computer has been worked on internally it could be that that airport antenna wires may have been slightly severed causing it to short or work intermittently. I would also suggest running a software update and maybe istumblr to see if your connection is solid or a rollercoaster

No option for 100% full screen?! (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1097566)

The bar at the top of your screen is the "Menu Bar." Full screen mode will be introduced in Mac OS X 10.7 "Lion" later this year.

The OP is wrong. Maybe that happens when you are more focused on formatting than the content of your post.

$19.99 gets you MyWi and a hotspot plus BT and USB tethering.

Add $4.99 if you want to use the MyWi OnDemand option which also requires pairing with another jb device also running MyWI plus OnDemand.

I have been folding since 2000, however I have yet to run F@H for long on my iMac. Reason being, CPU temps reach 85C. Is this safe for my Mac? I feel that at these temperatures I will need to take out an extended Apple Care warranty. :confused:if u feel it is unsafe, then don't do it. we would love to have your help, but if you feel it is at the expense of your machine, then your machine is more important

i only fold on machines i dont own for the same reasons you stated

I guess I should have left well enough alone. Now Cydia crashes on launch, I can't connect via ssh, and the iphone is not recognized when plugged in via USB. Obviously I'm unable to install ultrasn0w and unlock so my phone is basically unusable. Any suggestions?

If it were a future product, then Apple would simply incorporate the update in the installed OS before it ships. No update would be necessary. Furthermore, you will notice that there is no reference to the dual 1.25 GHz machines. Clearly, this is a mistake. The only logical explanation is that the typist omitted the "2" in "1.25 GHz.

Better to buy a dedicated LCD video monitor. You'd have to mount the iPad somewhere, you'd need a hood for it etc. I admit it sounds like a great geeky thing to do, but when it comes down to it there's no easy way to do it technically and even if you could it's largely impractical.

I'd say that a good 20 inch monitor would be generally cheaper than two 17 inch ones but I could well be wrong. I'm basing this on general Australian prices which aren't a great indication. Anyway, I suppose it should come down to whether you want more pixels on the horizontal plane (side to side) or vertically (top to bottom). The dual screens will give you a very wide viewing range but a relatively limited height. Also, from a personal taste perspective, I can't stand dual monitors because:

    a) the offset dock/half menu bar
    b) the screen edge being in the middle of my desktop

    but that's just me. ;)

Does the Otterbox Impact cause screen guards to bubble...since the silicone actually covers over the home key and ear piece areas that are already covered by the screen guards? Does it pull up the Zagg type screen guards?

Also....I read a few postings here that mention that they tear. Is that true from your experience?

Thanks (still trying to figure out if I am going Otterbox Impact or Commutter)
It will not bubble your screen shields. I'd recommend going with the Commuter because all the Impact is is just a silicone piece.

    1. It's been awhile since I downloaded something from PSN Store but IIRC you can't. It's not that bad though, the bandwidth would be shared meaning that it would take a lot more time to get even one demo downloaded.

    2. They are HD and LAN lights. HD light blinks when the HD is accessed (mostly when loading/saving etc) and the LAN light is blinking when gaming online for example. Nothing bad about them.

    3. PSN Store is one but most of them are premium so you got to pay. Take a look at various 3rd party themes. Just go to their website with PS3's browser and download a theme. Wallies you can get from anywhere and use e.g. a memory stick to transfer them.

    PS3 themes (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=ps3+wallpapers&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8#hl=fi&xhr=t&q=ps3+themes&cp=6&pf=p&sclient=psy&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en&source=hp&aq=0&aqi=&aql=&oq=ps3+th&pbx=1&fp=85b8abea67f4295a)

Okay I'm using the Lion Developers preview, all legit. When I try and open applications that I've moved from the Snow Leopard partition to Lion I just get a error telling me that the app could not be opened as it is not compatible. This happens with Apple products such as iWork and iLife, but some third party apps still work! Obviously this is not surprising and will doubtless be fixed, but will the whole OS be updated to be able to run these apps or will we have to upgrade applications separately in order to be able to run them :)
    Cheers x

Since I installed 10.3.8, my PowerBook has been crashing nonstop. I don't know if it's 10.3.8's fault, but I want to see if I can downgrade to 10.3.7 and see if that solves anything.

Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

Apparently Infinidock does not work on iOS 4.3 for the iPad, at least for me. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing works. I'm guessing it will not work until an update is released, but I figured I'd ask here if anybody else is having the same problem? And if there is a possible solution other than waiting for an update? With so much iPad 2 hoopla going on right now it has become a little more difficult to find anything using search. I'm having these issues on my iPad 1 (Classic  ) with a tethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3 just to clarify.

I did the original Sn0wbreeze 2.3b1 and had Infinidock working on my iPad running iOS 4.3. I installed Infinidock first, I have just upgraded to Sn0wbreeze 2.3b3, and this time I installed winter board first, now Infinidock no longer works, I'm hoping this is related to the install order? I had also installed the mobile substrate update after Infinidock, and still had seven dock icons...

I recently had a HDD failure on my iMac and decided to try and do a clean install and use Migration Assistant to migrate over my user data (wouldn't recommend this; there's just not enough fine grained control in MA to make it worthwhile). Anyway, I'm missing an item on my finder toolbar and was wondering if anyone has any hints as to what it may have been. While I can't remember what it was, it may have been useful from time to time. The only hint I have to what it is, is in the com.apple.finder.plist. The item-id is 'flxs'. If anyone can point me to what these item-ids reference I can probably pull some info out of my Time Machine backup.

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

Since the 2nd computer is the admin, that user will be able to look at the logs on the TC. Pretty much every router keeps a log of the URLs accessed by each computer.

So the admin will pretty much be able to see which websites you've visited. Plus the logs are timestamped.

    ft

Awesome. So she will be able to see my posts in this forum then? Haha. Dang, oh well. Thank you to everyone for the info and help! Great forum here.

I have an encrypted root FS DMG for iOS 4.3.2, and I'd like to be able to access some of the images, but they have modified headers. There are a million and one tools out there but none of them seem to work, not fully anyway, I keep getting between a 1/3 and 3/4 of the image, very rarely the whole thing.

Has anyone been able to "normalise" any images from a recent iOS dump?

USB Overdrive has caused problems for me in the past. It's actually really great until you want to uninstall it or replace it with something else. Then the "fun" begins. I eventually went with a whole OS wipe, but I didn't have the procedure that rtheb points out.
