Where the F is THAT???
Swindon England : 55 33' 46" N by 1 46' 17" W
Until a radical shift in our system happens, such as 3rd parties somehow becoming viable, these things will only continue. Institutions are self perpetuating and reinforcing, unless changed from the bottom (the only place such a change can possibly occur), the problems this country faces will only be contributed to and not combated.
First, we need to institute total no-opt-out public financing of all elections. Then we should explore something like an inflexible expiration for all corporate charters, say 9 years (about half a patent term). Dissolution would begin by satisfying the investors and then proceed to establishing non-incorporated component businesses to maintain (if necessary) the products/services the corporation had established, creating a coperative arrangement if appropriate.
Right now, long-lived large business has replaced the problem that the dynamic democratic republic was supposed to address. We have no official peerage, but what we do have is almost indistinguishable.

A week Tuesday, a week Tuesday! I just put my mini on eBay and I'll get a good chunk less if they update them tomorrow! I thought the original rumour said after Labor day which is next week isn't it?

You know, thinking about this right now, it makes sense that they could possibly release the Merom MBP at this event. Apple could use the pitch:
"Bored? Feel like watching a movie? Forgot to pack your favorite DVD from home? NO PROBLEM! Now you can use your new MBP and an internet connection to watch your movie anytime and anywhere from the new iTunes movie store! From planes, to hotels, to the long boring seminars, where you sit in the back, as long as you can get connected, it's showtime!"
And that would be a great opportunity to introduce the new line. Granted, you can do all of that with the current stuff now, but I'm just being optimistic. :D

Microsoft is still doing very well. They're making the best products they ever have done and as a customer I am very pleased with all of my Microsoft purchases.
- Zune desktop software
- Zune hardware and mobile software
- Windows Phone 7
- Windows 7
- Office 2010
- Office 2011 for Mac
- Xbox 360
- Xbox Live
All great products and deserve to be class leaders if they are not already. I can't think of another company (including Apple) that has put out such a fantastic range of very good products.
Where did you buy Zune hardware in the UK? And since we didn't even get the Zune subscription service until September 2010 it can't have been much use to you!

Since 1984:
Cmd-X = Cut
Cmd-C = Copy
Cmd-V = Paste
Grab will snap a picture of a window, the entire screen etc. There is also print to PDF.
I'm pretty sure he was referring to cut and paste in finder and "windows snap" is where you can snap two windows side by side easily- it is a great feature in W7 and I hope Apple incorporate it in some way.

It's a stupid law and not enforced. I talk on my phone all the time, while driving a stick shift with no problems. You just have to be willing to take the phone away from your ear when you need two hands.
...this law just got passed (today?). It won't be enforced until July next year, I think.
I wouldn't say it is stupid. The other day, I saw a woman driving a big SUV, a cellphone in one hand and an icecream in the other

Would you like more? Maybe people should stop DUI.
My sister was run over by a drunk 6-8 years ago, broken leg. I think all the pins have been removed.
A teenage driver was killed in a head-on directly in front of my house (30 mph road) by a guy doing 50+, over the limit on alcohol, and with marijuana in his blood. His mother still keeps a memorial on the corner across the street. That has also been around 10 years.
As long as you don't mention hyenas, mention anything you like.

Going public has other dimensions. There's more to business than the consumer and executive/investor ends. Going public allows people to force coporations to act in outside interests, otherwise it's just a private tyranny.
Investors are the kinds of people that can force Apple to resolve the iPod City scandal in workers favors, even if it doesn't pose financial benefits for Apple itself.
The problem is, the investors are usually stinking rich capitalistas anyway, and they'd rather resolve it in Apple's financial favor in order to harvest a couple more pennies from poor, miserable Chinese workers so they can slap it on their already monstrous monthly bank balance.
So much for morality :/

I bet Apple pulls them. RIM already did. Companies far too often cave to the illogical or crazies rather than standing up for what is logical and right.
Why is it logical and right?
Again, if 150,000 regular people who didn't want criminals avoiding checkpoints (fugitives, revoked licenses, drug dealers, see above) complained would you say Apple should keep it?
That's why Apple pulled the anti-gay app. So if tomorrow MADD made a petition it would be justifiable to remove it?

I would love to have a red iPod, but I don't know why we would ever give money to help fight AIDS on a continent where the people take NO precautions to prevent themselves from getting AIDS... I mean, sure many children are born with it in Africa, but for soooo many adults, they could prevent the spread if they would just be monogamous.
So there, I solved AIDS for free, no Oprah, no Bono, no Ipods. Just have sex only within a lifetime committed relationship and AIDS is all but gone in one generation!
I'll stick to my black aluminum iPod nano, anyhow. I just hope 10% of the proceeds didn't go to research finding cures for the black plague... or frostbite...

They'll change the key and force a firmware update on any airport express user who wants to update itunes.
Probably workin' 24/7 on it as we speak... I hope Apple finally stops being Sue Zombie, and realizes the advantages to the consumer for this.
Apple, go back to the logic that made you what you are - make products for the consumer's hearts & thoughts!

An anonymous source claims that U2's Bono will announce a RED (http://www.joinred.com/) version of Apple's 4 GB iPod tomorrow during his appearance on Oprah. The show was apparently taped today in Chicago, and Oprah.com (http://www.oprah.com/) has the following to say about tomorrow's show:
Get "red"-y! It's something so huge, it took Opray, Bono and a convertible to make it happen! Plus, Penelope Cruz and Kanye West are in on it! An extraordinary launch! [...] Chicago goes "red" today and this is just the beginning!
The show was apparently taped today, and will be aired tomorrow, October 13th. Rumors of a RED iPod (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/01/20060131123048.shtml) have been circulating since January. According to our source, the RED iPod would be priced similarly to current 4 GB models at $199, with $10 (5%) of each sale going to The Global Fund to help women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa, where some countries have over 30% of the population affected by the disease (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIDS_pandemic#Sub-Saharan_Africa).

thats:
334,448 iPods or
671,141 Nanos or
1,449,275 Shuffles.
Exactly! Not to mention computer sales that will also contribute to this. And now Apple has another company to add to it's list that'll be helping those iPods sales by making iPod accessories.
Because of Apple's actions, Creative can now legitimately force other MP3 player makers to pay too. I think this is what Apple wants.
Interesting...that's a good point.

new here to the forums.
i've been patiently waiting for the MBP to be updated before i ordered but wanted to jump on the iPod deal as well which ends the 16th
if one was to place an order and then these are announced the following week, would Apple upgrade you to the comparable machine?
If the new one is announced before your order ships, it will be automatically upgraded. Otherwise, you should return the unopened product within 2 weeks of purchase for a free upgrade.

I predict the following:
iTunes Movie Store with... 1080 HD movie downloads.
Updated Cinema Displays.
New Airport Extreme with 802.11n (for streaming the said Movies wirelessly)
iPod updates, either slightly modified nano(new cases+more compacity) and/or updated video iPods with higher compacity for said HD movies.
;)
I really do think theywill be available in 1080, and that will be a very big deal.
blueray? hd dvd? who cares i can just get them on itunes.

You'll find Microsoft's reason to sue Apple is here (http://phone.microsoftplatformready.com/Dashboard.aspx). Guess Microsoft is protecting itself from a legal butt kicking by being preemptive.
wouldnt app hub (store) be ok since its not just appstore?

As for the Senator's request, they cannot be required to take it down. If cops are so overt that apps can bust their checkpoints, maybe they should be floating checkpoints?

Wow, and I'm the immature one???
guess what.
This thread could be enough to get a warrant to prove your who you are.
Also Arn could easily hand over you IP tracing you down even father along with your email address which is all legal and could be submitted to court as he freely handed over his privates data to the cops.
sure Arn could do that, but then the cops have to prove that I actually did this, and they also have to prove who at my house typed this. It could be me, it could be my mother, it could be my brother, it could be my grandmother. There is no way to know who actually typed this. That's where it all falls apart.
OP, I do find it amusing you think you know the intricacies of the law just because your uncle is a judge
Until you have the education/training yourself, I would not be so confident in your opinions...especially as one who has not even finished hs
I also advise you to stop digging yourself in a hole. I feel you are rapidly losing any credibility/respect that many long time posters previously had of you due to this very, and I mean very childish and selfish mindset you are exhibiting in this thread
If a few people on MacRumors find me to be childish, I really couldn't care less. Believe me, what you guys think of me is not going to ruin my chances of getting into an Ivy League school, or from becoming a successful adult.
