That screen shot looks good. The interface looks a whole lot better. I'd prefer if it ran as OS X Native, but I might actually give this version a shot.

To video folks: For those of you working with motion graphics, particularly in HD (lets just say 1080p to be safe), do you find the response time on the ACDs to be sufficient for working with HD content? How about full screen HD playback?
I find ACD's really good quality all-around purpose displays. IPS is faster than PVA, so they hold their name pretty good. ACD's are also pretty fine without profiling, which most other dislpays need badly before any color work. With profiling ACD's are naturally even better. If you need higher quality, you'll have to get displays with hardware LUT.
Personally, I decided that I won't buy anything to myself (displays or graphics adapters) without hdcp.
Also, I'm considering getting a 17" MBP (soon, I'd like to wait for a refresh but the money isn't coming out of my personal coffers); what is your feeling about it pumping out HD content to a 30" ACD? The ACD would actually be for home use with the MBP. How does it perform pushing HD content?
I'm also waiting for led backlit 17", although I couldn't afford it now, so it's nice it's not showing up...
MBP should have no effort to playback 1080p. At least if it isn't too fat bandwidth, so that hdd/lan can stream it.

Hi everybody,
I'm having a series of problems with my 2 months old Macbook pro:
Very slow to start, a little better now that I reinstalled the OS.
Fan goes on as soon as computer start to work.
Frozen screen when I wake up the computer.
I'm also loosing control from the trackpad.
Does anybody has some similar problems? I will love to know if there is anything that I can do before bringing back the laptop to the store.
Thanks
E

Yeah, seriously. I don't think there's ANYTHING that anyone could text me, spelling error or no, that would cause me to fly into a murderous rampage.
See the Asperger's thread.

Another in the "too easy" series. iMovie this time!
We're trying to catch the evil cat.
Kinda choppy because I had to cut it down to ~30 seconds.
3 year olds are not good actors.

Hmm, yeah I think I've heard about that before. Thanks. I'll have to look around to see if there's a way to make it work with my mac, or I guess I could just use windows...
If you have an intel Mac then you may be able to use crossover (http://www.codeweavers.com/products/download_trial_macosx/) to get the windows drivers for the XboX controller to work under Mac OS X. I have used it to make the windows drivers for my Logitech Precision Gamepad to work and it is flawless for that purpose.

I'm going to do a "drive-by" at about 3:30 and if the line is substantial, then I'll drag my sweatshirt, gloves and folding lawnchair out and join it! The Weather Channel says it will be cooler starting on Thursday - it figures! I'm not a youngster either, but I've always met nice people in long lines (except at the Vatican, LOL!), so I'm not totally dreading it. I just hope I'm outa Apple by noon so I can pick up my daughter at the airport!

Create the user, click on the Security tab, and then check the "allow user to administrate this computer" box. Bam, admin user.

Good god, are you seriously suggesting that if you don't need a 2560 x 1600 resolution you don't need a computer? Hahaha... just quit while you're behind, man.
If you're just using it for movies, music and browsing. Does it make sense?

I'm on 4.3 with an iPhone 4 and badly need to jailbreak...I keep getting how to jb 4.3.1 etc so not sure what to do.
Is limera1n an option ?
Just need the easiest and untethered jb.
Thanks

So with WMP gone and now VPC gone, the only MAJOR software developed for Macs by Microsoft is Office?
Let's just hope they don't decide to kill office. Sure, I know there are lots of alternatives out there, but you try telling that to Mr. idiot joe-average boss.
Yeah, Office will stay. They said they are committed for at least 5 more years. Office is probably the only Mac software they develop and actually make a decent profit on.

Yea, I suspect the power supply also. It disappears when I unplug it totally (no Gremlins ;-)). It strangely also disappears when I turn it on. I was just wondering if anyone else had this noise? If I am the only one, then I will call Apple abut it.
Yeah, I have the new iMac and I don't have that problem. Call Apple.

How long would it averagely take to learn the necessary programming/code/flash/html for website #1:
http://www.lesoireebanquethall.com/
and website #2:
http://www.chicowebdesign.com/
I already have the designing/hosting/domain aspects down but I want to just create the website core (see examples above) on my own, without having to sucker up to web designing services that offer templates, etc.. I have master cs5 but i was also wondering applications and (or) learning supplements should i read/watch.
I have no knowledge of html/flash coding/css/php/javascript/etc. Should I just purchase a template or is it feasible to just learn and create my own? I am really eager to learn to create my own (really similar to website #1) but if it is way too much work/hassle, might as well purchase a template.

Wow, didn't see that coming. Caught me completely by surprise!
NOT
Given the alternatives on the market and in development, I'd just as soon see somebody else take a crack at it and let M$'s POS die.

Oh, the video iPod is coming! :D
But I'd be dissappointed if the circular control of the original iPod is missing.
the click wheel would presumably be a "virtual" one that appears on the screen.

I don't think a touch bezel would preclude the use of a touch screen also.

I am more of a design guy at heart but have been helping my company do some web over-hauling of our sites. We have been using simply Photoshop-made buttons for our links.
Question: Can someone check out this site (http://komotion.com/examples/elements/buttons-and-links/). I am wondering if the buttons on the top leading off the page are made strictly using CSS/HTML, or if there is a photoshop template behind it.
From what I can gather on a few other CSS Button tutorials there may be a blank photoshop template behind it and the CSS can stretch it and add the text? Am I way off base?
Thanks for helping me handle my code ignorance :(
EDIT: Forgot about the mouseover glow... Is this done strictly through CSS or do you need an "after" state image?
Those are done with a background image:
http://komotion.com/wp-content/themes/komotion/styles/blue/button_sprite.png
The mouseover effect is using javascript to change the opacity of the image -- it makes it slightly more transparent (80% transparent), which gives the "lightening" effect. Nice little effect!
