Met up with some friends at the West County store at about 5:00. We were about 10th in line. We mostly just talked, watched the line wrap around the mall, and I spent a few minutes on my PowerBook. A lot of people had iPhones (I don't have one :(). It was really exciting as it got closer and closer to 6:00. Then there was the obligatory countdown, the doors opened, and I got the free tshirt. :)
I spent about 20 or 30 minutes in there, checking out Leopard before I installed. It was pretty busy, and they had the store employees walking around with the scanners. When we left there was still a long line of people waiting to get in.
I love these Apple events!

Hi, I have a problem with final cut pro export.
You see when I have in the timeline all videos assembled, to export in HDV-720p60 or otherwise, disappeared the last 10 seconds of the film, and not to do or how to fix it

I just bought an Epson Stylus Photo R200 for my new powerbook. It was $100 plus $40 in mail-in rebates, for a total of $60 at CompUSA. I like it a lot. The print quality for photos is great, and it'll print directly on CDs and DVDs which was a huge selling point for me. You might want to check it out. Based on my own research, it was the best value as far as price vs. features/quality goes.

They did this one. If you look at some of the other things at the site, it asks you for a password. There's sections for Motorola, IBM and Intel, but there's either nothing there or it's password protection. :(

Nice machine, and great work! I love that it's paired with the original Imagewriter.

jacking up the shipping price is a good way to get some of your $$ back after ebay/paypal take their cuts
And thats why most people avoid those auctions

Choice is good. Let's hope Microsoft can finish their software before releasing it. I have a little more faith in RIM doing so.
Hope? You haven't tried the Zune software, I see. Makes iTunes look like crapware written by a high school student.

I have an iPod Touch 2nd Gen, I accidentally upgraded to iOS 4.x, now I just want to knock my head to wall, so is there anyway I can downgrade it to version 3.x? Jailbreak is acceptable if it is the only method. Also, I am using a Mac.
I tried the standard way, shut down my iPod Touch and start in DFU mode, than press alt + recover, select firmware file but it told me "not eligible for requested build", I tried from 2.x to 3.x firmwares.
Thanks in advance.

I would be waiting early in line if I knew the white iphones would be available. I stood in line for the 3G and they sold out about 5 people in front of me. I got there about 6:00am. I'm not sure how the 3Gs launch went.

OR change you default shell in the netinfo database.
And the easiest way to do this from Terminal is:
chsh -s tcsh

They had a few good ones, but those ads overstayed their welcome imo. They need something fresh. :)

Mine does this too! Very annoying. Hopefully we will find a fix soon.
I know! For now, it's best to use the Google search bar located on the top-right hand side of Safari's browser.

So, I got my Newton eMate 300 that I bought off eBay. The listing said it didn't hold a charge, surprise, surprise, I stuck the charger on a bit and have been using it on my couch, on my bed, outside, etc with no power adapter for about 6 hours now...
So, when my dad brings home a serial cable for me, and I get a wireless card, I want to know of any internet applications I can use on this baby? I know there's a text browser that you can run from a Linux shell, is there anything like that for Newton OS?

I just like the idea of being Administrator. Is it bad?
Yes. You have access power to delete anything - and also you're leaving the system open to virus or trojan attack, as anything run as you can delete/modify anything.
In addition, any of the files you create will be accessible by root only, so going to another user ID may be a problem.
I don't have another username, as I wanted to use the root as my only account.
Well, you don't actually want to be root, do you? You said you wanted to be 'Joey'
Should I just make a new username?
Yes.
You might have long term problems with your existing files / apps though (since they're owned as root). If you do, then a full wipe/reinstall may be necessary.

They suck!
No not really, I prefer the one that looks like an "o" better though. But the concept seems a like far from Apple and macrumors. I mean, a rollercoaster? where's the link? The whole MacCoaster seem stretched. But they still look cool :)
The avatars don't have to have anything related to MacRumors. My #1 and #3 have more relevance in that area, but this one is just something to show the meaning of my nickname.
