No, this thread has to do with an orange dick.
I knew a dick would come into this sooner or later.

Hi All,
I thought that I would post this and let you know how I formatted my new 1TB external for both HFS+ and NTFS. It had been a few years since I had done that so I checked the internet and got an array of contrary and convoluted information. But, this is what worked for me.
Pretty simple and straightforward.
In Mac:
Disk Utility> Partition
-create two partitions. You'll determine their sizes.
Partition 1 format HFS+ I named it MAC External
Partition 2 format MS DOS (FAT) I named it W7 External
-Exit Mac
In Windows 7
Open Disk Management
Locate your external drive.
You will see the Mac partition and you will see an Unallocated partition. Choose the Unallocated partition, (that will become your W7) but you will need to name it and format it NTSF.
-Exit Disk Management
Done.
That was it. Hope it works for you as well.
More room is nice on both sides. I did my image and then backup copy for W7. And now in Mac I decided to use Time Machine for the very first time, since I found this application to schedule Time Machine more eco nomically (hour, or day, or week, or month...instead of it's current hourly updating). I could see why people ran out of hard drive space. The free application I found is called Time Machine Editor. Hope it works, if not I will do a SuperDuper clone and call that good. The link for Time Machine Editor http://timesoftware.free.fr/timemachineeditor/
Also on a side note, the new drive is a Hitachi 7200/1TB and it was so quiet that I had to check the enclosure repeatedly to reafirm that it was running. Very very very quiet drive. This drive replaced the original noisy Seagate that was in my LaCie Quadra2 enclosure. And firewire does really play a key role when using these larger drive.
Hope some of this information is beneficial to our members.

Hi
Quick question. i recently bought a macmini to act as a media centre (more than happy). My Father in Law is impressed with set up and wants the same BUT he wants more capacity on the HDD. He has seen a refurb mini server with plenty of HDD space which he is tempted by but keeps asking me what the downside to having one of these over the standard version will be. He isnt fussed for the DVD drive as all his files are downloaded.
Can anyone quickly give reasons why he should/shouldnt go for this? He will not be usingit as a server but only to get the extra specs.
Hope someone can help or point me to where I can get the info on the difference.

is it a genuine charger? I saw somewhere someone else did buy a non-genuine charger and voltage was not the same thus making lot of problems, check the DC-inboard.
Ah I did not think of that, I'll check.
Thanks!

I am looking for a really good monitor for my 2010 Mini for use with Web Browsing and some games, as my trusty ol' Gateway finally died.
I am looking in the 22-24" area and do not want to spend more than say $350.00
Should I go LED or Not?
Need to be able to display MAX Resolution Mini can handle.
Look for on sale monitors from Asus, Dell, Samsung etc. You may well be able to get an LED monitor at 1920x1080 in your price range (older model most likely). But as Hellhammer pointed out max resolution is not going to be possible.
Cheers

Any updates on the situation there? I got in line for a walk in but left once I found they were letting only 1 walk in for every 50 reserved people. Did they sell out? Did walkins get many phones???

I would take my iPod and Mac to the Apple store, but my warranty is out. It's been out for a long time too. And yes, I am using the Last.fm Scrobbler.
This is the likely source of your problem. The last.fm scrobbler doesn't deal particularly well larger libraries and larger capacity iPods. When you plug in your iPod the scrobbler will attempt to scrobble your plays from the iPod. While it does this, it completely freezes iTunes. If you open up Activity Monitor, you will see iTunes using 100% of your CPU resources on one of your cores. I have a 3 GHz MacPro and it freezes my iTunes for 2-5 minutes. iTunes is not multi-threaded, so it will only use one core/thread.
There is a temporary solution involving the deletion of one of the last.fm scrobbler logs. I'll see if I can find it. You could turn off iPod scrobbling, which will solve the problem. You may also want to try a different scrobbler. Unfortunately, it's probably an annoyance you'll have to live with if you want to scrobble.

Shouldn't they pay more since they are capable?
Hardly. They should pay more because they owe more. You do not just become a billionaire out of the blue. You do not become a billionaire because of you sweat and hard work. You become a billionaire by working the system. You owe society for providing the opportunity to you, for facilitating your progress, and for helping you protect what you have.
But, you say, when was the last time a poor person created a job for you (or anyone else)? I reply, "Was it a poor person that downsized me, laid me off, shipped my job to Mindinao?"
There is a video that the OP links to now and then, directly or indirectly, in which the speaker asserts that "bastardliness" is a natural human condition, that (his kind) accept this fact and try to work with it. Well I have met poor people and well-to-do people, and when it comes to being nice and kind and helpful and generous, guess which group comes out ahead, hands down? "Natural human bastardliness" is not only not universal, it has a cause (which I think is even mentioned in that bible thing).

I notice that the fingers in the diagram look small. A little research shows the average male index finger dip joint (last joint at the finger) is about 1cm long. Doing some quick calculations, assuming ANYTHING in the diagram is to scale, the device seems to be about 7" tall. The current Ipod is 4.1" tall. Also, the diagram shows the ability to add to playlist, which leads me to believe it is more than an ipod... perhaps I am completely wrong, of course
Are you insinuating something.....
perhaps that this is not an iPod after all, but rather an iTablet?

A very nice fake. Unfortunately, you'd have to change the CPU type from ARM7 to ARM6 on all the binary files then write the proper driver kext for the GPU.
