I use RipIt to to initially rip the dvd onto my mac and then I use handbrake to convert the file to MP4 format in order to put it into my itunes library. I have just recently began putting my TV Show DVD seasons onto my computer and have noticed a change in the quality for the worst. I have watched the MPV format video via RipIt and the quality is fine. Seems like when converting from Ripit to Handbrake MP4 the quality becomes worse. I use the "Universal" setting and have played around with different types of presets and picture settings with no luck. Any suggestions?

Have you googled it? If you search for "web design tutorial" or "HTML tutorial" you get literally millions of hits.

Post photos of your car sporting Apple-inspired license plates or just maybe an Apple decal. Please ensure you mask your actual license plate from your car if you are just showing a decal and do not want the internet to know your information, not that anybody cares.
Here's my car below. Yes, I know, I'm a geek.

It would be a much stronger meaning if you put the windows XP desktop on the iMac, rather than a solitaire....IMO.....

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate this morning on my Late 09 21.5" iMac. Windows installed just fine, I followed the instructions Apple provided in a PDF, and I downloaded the drivers from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl995. However, with Windows installed my Magic Mouse does not work. Currently I am using a Dell USB mouse. Both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad show up in the Bluetooth devices list, which means I must have done something right, and my wireless keyboard that came with my iMac is working just fine. Anyone have any solutions?

She left it unplugged for a day or two and it started to work again. Not sure what the problem was but I guess it's working fine now.

craigslist does wonders for me. lol so you're better off with craigslist since there is no fee or charge and you can sell it locally so you get the $ on the spot and you get to dodge shipping and paypal fees. you can try ebay, but then u have to pay ebay fees, paypal and shipping as well so you don't end up making much overall.

But those are 3.5" HDDs, dukebound85 was looking for 2.5" HDDs.
Thanks....but not really helpful as they are all desktop hard drives
My mistake. I appear to making a lot of reading mistakes recently.

I use Sun's VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/), it's free, and it works better than the other two IMO.

Or Why IMovie have stop using core 2 duo and now stock around 60% instead of the usual 175 % of processes capacities?
Greetings
It's been 30 hours now that I struggle with various hypothesis of work, trying to rehabilitate the full capacity of IMovie 08 (v 7.1.4) to export in a proper time.
Usually, during exportation, Imovie use 150 to 175 % of my MacBook Pro Core 2 duo, since the last two days, it is stock between 30 and 70 % and I can't figure why. Lately, at its best, It went back to 120% for about two minutes and drop back to 65%.
It is like that since I bounce a 15minutes single track on Logic Pro 9 while IMovie 08 was exporting. It then generate a ReportCrash's crisis that I've try to describe my best here https://discussions.apple.com/message/15090079#15090079. As the Crash Report was about QMaster / Qmasterd, I have removed completely the application withouth been shure it was a good idea.
It then let IMovie gain back some strength and to now use around 60% of the capacities instead of the poor 25% of the crisis time. Still it make my work days compromise as an export that was taking 40 minutes is now recquiering 260 ! I was fearfull that qmaster could have been an architectural piece that make possible the usage of the dual core ( Core 2 Duo ) but by a test on another similar cpu without qmaster, Imovie was still exporting at 140%.
Any suggestion is welcome.
This happen at the worst time I could have imagine as I have to quickly produce a pilot as a film project proposal. What seemed flush in the usual exporting time now seem compromise by that bad surprise.
If nobody has a clue, does efficiants clip's trimming programs exist for mac ?
Hope they is a known way to solve this issue without having to bring the machine to the store

Pretty sure that if you go to the page of iTunes that shows the device you currently have synched theres a tab there that allows you to select the apps you want and breaks them down iphone/ipad. Dont have my usb cord available so I cant do it to give you better directions but you can probabl figure it out.

Thanks for the replies, I will take a look at Linksys.
I have discovered that when closing the lid the latch that holds it closed will only catch approx. 1 out of 5 times and the lid will pop back open. Searching around the net I found that others have had this problem and apple will replace it. So today I will hopefully get my second new 15" in as many days. Oh well, I have to go back for an airport extreme card anyway (forgot that last night).
You know, you never find these kinds of little imperfections on wintel machines.
(sarcasm.)

Pioneer Place for me & a friend, probably show up around 5:30 - though, knowing how long it takes to get a genius appointment, it's probably gonna be packed earlier than that.

Today I connected my iPhone 4 to my Bose speaker that has a specific connection for iPhone, and to my surprise I started getting pop ups to dismiss saying that the device is not compatible. I continued trying until it started to play the music. This was not happening with my iPhone 3gs or recent iPod Touch. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I thought the iPhone 4 was updated and more compatible to issues like these.

I was sure i read an article posted on this forum, showing someone who did just that. Bought parts off ebay to build a G5 (mainboard, case etc)... or maybe it was to upgrade an original G5 . I remember something about it not working at the correct speed so he had to mess with it..
Anyhow. MacMini... best bet if you are after something simular to a PowerMac (as in no head and no inbuilt screen) or you could look in the refurbished sites - you can actually get Single CPU 1.8 for a quite reasonable price (a lot less than say a dual g5 2ghz).

Updates replace changed files. Softare Update merely automates what you would do when you manually download updates. IMHO, the reports that you heard about updates originate between the keyboard and chair.Actually, the issues aren;t of the PEBKAC variety. Ever since Apple started with patch updates through Software Update I've had issues occur that were fixed by applying the full point update (not the combo update). Pretty much every issue that has been fixed by installing the combo update (that I know of) has been where the system in question had one ofr more point patch updates installed by software update instead of the full point update.
Ever since that became a common occurance, I only install the full point updates and haven't had any of the funky issues that people seem to have that are apparently caused by the smaller patch updates.
I think Apple could save some money by not bothering with the patch updates so they have less software to test and have less customer issues. In theory having the three types of updates (patch, point and combo) gives them too many combinations to test. Since apparently depending on which updates were patch and which were point changes the outcome of how the system works.
