My parents love their 11.6" MBA. My mom was considering an iPad and when my dad saw the MBA, he thought I scammed her into paying more money. Now that he is using it more and more, he finally came around. :)

I agree about the InDesign approach, but as the other poster said, you will either have to invest in Illustrator, or in InDesign, to make the changes that you are looking to make.
InDesign would offer you more flexability, such as using a data merge to be able to plug in data fields and generate, for example, 20 different text fields with just the one template.
However, this does require you to learn the software whether it be InDesign or Illustrator to make the changes.

AppleInsider Article: "The filing is credited to four Apple employees: Nick King, Duncan Kerr, Paul Herbst and Steven Hotelling."
Is this the type of thing Apple does? Thought they had more control over employee/press relations...
The whole article sounds a bit overloaded with info - is it April Fools?http://forums.macrumors.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

I was a freshman in high school. I was just getting off the bus in the morning when i heard these exact words on the radio "...oh my god! A second plane has just hit the second world trade center building"
i kinda walked on into class in shock until 1st period started. The teacher had the tv on when we came in. We watched the first and the second towers fall. We watched the people running from the cloud of dust and debris be overtaken by it. Thats about all we did that day.
I didn't know anyone from New York so i wasn't personally affected. I offer my condolences to those of you who did lose someone.

Hello, I am new to the site and am glad to be on board. I am not a computer person just a low end user! I have the original blueberry Mac, keyboard and want to sell it. I had the drive cleared so it is like new. How does one go about selling it?;) MS
Just like BennieBoy said, It's against the rules to sell things outside of the marketplace forum, which you cannot see until you gain 250 posts.
If I were you, I would try Craigslist or Kijiji before anything else.

Why is it that the iPad and the iPhone have great Sync with the iMa, but the small drive MBA has no Sync. Both the MBA and the iPad can be 64GB. Since one cannot cram a 1 Terabyte drive into 64GB of the MBA, there is a need for the Sync.

I'd just get the 24GB. Even that should be way more than you need, unless you are running several VMs as well as photoshop, etc. But you certainly wouldn't notice any adverse effects from 32GB if that's what you wanted to know.

But, I don't see camera makers doing that until GPS-locating of photos shows signs of taking off, which it doesn't, yet.
This feature needs a iTunes like integration to really take off and i think Apple is in the best position to pull this off. iPhoto can be made to work with all GPS enabled camera's and why not a PC version, Apple only needs a business model to make this step and the iPhone can be it.

And if that mobjority decides that they want to take all the wealth of a certain group of people, that's their right to do? Since they have a majority? It's pretty easy to get support from a majority of people to take other people's money and distribute it to them. It's just not moral. Your position is that individuals have zero moral, legal, or otherwise claim to the wealth that they themselves work for/earn?
I don't think we're ever going to have a shortage of wealthy and powerful people; even authoritarian government have their share of plutocrats. I also question the notion that the acquisition of wealth is always assumed to have been legitimately "worked for" or "earned". ENRON, Madoff, the banks during the credit crunch...
At any rate, you're putting words in my mouth. We all collectively decide how to govern ourselves, and it's not always the case that a simple majority is enough to implement changes to the status quo. Also, it has been demonstrated time and time again that a small number of wealthy and powerful people can get their way in the face of overwhelming opposition from less wealthy and powerful people. It cuts both ways. You seem to be trying to characterize any increase in taxes on the rich as a form of theft perpetrated by the rest of the nation; that's a very twisted take on the concept of taxation.
In the end, your attempt to create sympathy for the wealthy rings hollow.

Sounds like there were much bigger issues here than a simple spelling error.
Yeah, seriously. I don't think there's ANYTHING that anyone could text me, spelling error or no, that would cause me to fly into a murderous rampage.

I'm pretty sure Jobsy hasn't done a "One More Thing" (which is annoying, cos even ppl who've noticed this still hope for them) since they did an event actually called "One More Thing" about 2 years ago. Last Macworld's keynote was just about the AppleTV (which we'd heard about 3 months previous as the iTV) and of course the iPhone, with no OMT whatsoever.
I think they scrapped it because internet hype and Thinksecret's rumour success rate meant that the "One More Thing" was usually leaked beforehand anyways, so when they did it, it was less of a nice surprise and more of a relief that the rumour sites hadn't gotten our hopes up about nothing.

As no other computers will need to be on the network, I assume it is as simple as plugging the two computers together with an Ethernet cable and making sure they can see each other. The hard part is making sure they always use this network and not the company network.
OS X automatically prioritises the faster connection, hence will use your GbE connection by default if you transfer files between these two machines only.

Yes, this would work well with Apple QuickCam video camera tag first/tag next/tag last approach. I would then be able to video tape my vacations import to iphoto/imovie and it would pop up and then allow others QuickCam users to see and interact ala youtube for Apple... very cool, nice find.

When you upgraded, did it put your previous version in the trash? If so, move it out of there and launch that version. Or you could use Safari to download the previous version on Firefox.
I am trying to download the Firefox version again. the older one since Firefox 4 doesn't work on my old Imac. Just tried to download Firefox 4 and it said it doesn't work with my Mac.
No, it did not put my previous version in the trash since it was just an update I think (installation). Thanks.

Well, I used disk utilities and it won't find hard drive. No where in the system it shows the hard drive. I'm going to use an install disc and see if it finds it.
If I reformat drive with MacDrive, will it be easier???
You can format it with mac drive is all else fails. Also make sure its connected correctly (Master. Slave, etc.)

Who here saw "Commander in Chief"? ... Any thoughts?
Just finished watching it on tape and enjoyed it very much. I was hoping it would be decent and it more than surpassed my expectations. Fine performances, good storylines and not the least bit boring giving the political nature of the show.
Now there is something entertaining and engrossing to follow "The Biggest Loser" on Monday evening ... this one may actually prove to be a bonafide winner.

I'm ready to tackle a project that I have been ignoring for several years and need some help. I have dozens of hours of video (vacations and WWII veteran interviews) on SD cards, Mini DV, and old VCR tapes, that has never been transferred or edited. The most critical to me is the content on the hard drive of my HFS10. It is full of interviews with American, British, and French D-Day veterans taken during a trip to Normandy for the 65th Anniversary of the battle. I really fear its loss if I don't do this right.
I'll be upgrading my Core 2 Duo iMac to a Quad Core i7 iMac with 16GB of RAM very soon. Unfortunately, the more I try to educate myself on how to do the transfer and editing, the more confused I become about the process.
I was wondering if someone would be willing to walk me through the process of transferring this video from its source to my iMac (without loss of quality), how to edit and archive it, and how to finalize it for playback on the iMac, Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad. Perhaps there is a great reference book on the topic that someone could recommend?
The only software that I currently have is iMovie and I have never used it. I'm happy to spend some money on hardware and software to do this right, so all suggestions, from budget to extravagant, are welcome. I would greatly appreciate any guidance. Thanks very much.
