I can't remember which commentator it was but when asked "The last thing we want is for the test to be washed out. That's no way to end the series" he responded "No, I think we'll take a win whichever way we can".

A result would still be nice. :(

Sounds like a great update, especially if it fixes a bug involving repeat in iPod. And battery life improvements are always good!

Did you notice the double slots at the top where the front facing camera and ear speaker are?
I wonder what that is for. My Black iPhone 4 does not have that.

    It's stated in the article:

As in other recent photos, the final version of the white iPhone 4 carries a redesigned proximity sensor area on the front panel, utilizing a relatively large, lozenge-shaped area above the earpiece as opposed to the grille of small holes seen in early designs.

Now that I think about it, the post about the HD content taking up so much room is right on. I don't thing 120GB will be enough for all my HD episodes of jericho and enterprise. Much less all my other stuff thats on there.

You haven't heard about the upcoming proprietary 360 External 3.5" 750 GB HD from Microsoft? What's the price you ask? Well, if you have to ask maybe you should start looking into refinancing your house soon. Or get a second job. :D

I think this is the main concern of Apple delaying the launch of this new iPod Video. They need to have figured out a way for the battery life to last at least 4 to 6 hours...:(
Easy. Super secret 8 pound iPod (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=172387). :p

I agree with people on the price. The perfect scenario would be for MS to drop the Core 360 price to 180 (same as Wii here, potentially forcing Nintendo to lower Wii price), drop the Premium to 250 and stick in the Elite at 300. God knows we're ready for a 360 price drop.

most retailers here (at least the big ones) already dropped the premium to 299 on their own and the core is non-existant

also some super duper set or so for the 360 was released with 2. controller, play and charge kit (i don't know might be even 2) again with remote, head set and something else for 349

ontopic: i think 479 might be too steep especially with the current (only local ?) price drop, 179 bucks for hdmi and 120 GB harddisk and black...

i always thought the microsoft multi unit approach was faulty fro mthe beginning.. instead of focusing on 1 thing to sell the seperate their markeing force with it... it also makes retailers less happy

I really hope this is a rental system, but not like Netflix. If they could give me one-day file "rentals" for $1 or $2, this would go from something I'd never even consider using to something I'd use for 95% of my movies...in fact, my movie viewing would probably skyrocket.

I very rarely watch a movie more than once. And at that price, if a movie is so good as to warrant a second viewing (but not good enough to buy the DVD), I wouldn't really mind paying again.

love the design, the size is great for jogging! i wish it was rain proof, but maybe somebody will design some kind of rain proof casing. a tiny mic+software would be nice for dictation too. :)

i worry alot about people stealing my ipod, but a small device like this at its price would overcome that.

    Apple will soon be #1!

They already are in individual unit sales. But they will never be #1 in overall unit sales. Samsung, LG and others make too many different models and Apple can only make so many iPhones. They will always be #2 or #3 in overall sales unless they made drastic changes and given they are #1 in profit, I don't think they will. I think they are happy right where they are.

I'd like to see something new in the iPad other than the standard "thinner, lighter" junk. Yes, the iPad 2.0 upgraded the RAM (to a whopping 512!) and faster CPU...but I'd like more/better functionality...more built-in (free) apps...stereo speakers...better screen resolution...and larger baseline storage (32GB is needed....64GB would be awesome)

Check out the inventory tracker in MR iPad forum for Best Buy, Target, etc.
I placed my order online at the Apple Store and have been waiting patiently for a April 20 delivery. Yesterday I checked the inventory tracker and it turned out my local Best Buy had stock on the 16GB WiFi black, just as I ordered it from Apple. Literally 15 minutes later I was up and running with my new gear & cancelled my Apple store order. No waiting in line or wasting any more time with the whole process. Why wait if you can grab it locally?

I'll have to check this out... I can't find one here locally anywhere and the people at the counters have no clue when stock is coming again. Best I got was check back or take a look at the shinny new Xooms in stock! :p

I suggest those waiting hold their breath. Either you want an iPad or you don't. If you can wait 6-12 months for something, the product probably isn't what you are looking for in the first place...

Well, in my case I may be waiting the 6 months or so for the iPad2 or even hold out for the iPad3 next March reason being that I'm purchasing a 27" iMac when they are refreshed this year as well as upgrading my iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 5 once that is released.

Garmin/Tomtom and co should be scared.

They've been scared for a long time. The combination of Navigation systems now not being limited to premium luxury cars and the increasing capabilities of smartphones, I have no doubt their sales have seen a steady decline over the last 2-3 years.

And if they don't provide local numbers, what are they giving you then, Paleolithic phone numbers???? I know several people with T-Mobile with a local number.

You mentioned that you are in North Carolina, which the reason why they don't have coverage there is because SunCom is sort of their "counterpart" if you will. After all, SunCom gets a lot of phones only T-Mobile gets, such as the Sidekick/hiptop.

    hehe Paleolithic :)

You know several people in North Carolina with local numbers?

Yes SunCom has an agreement with T-Mobile. SunCom also has an agreement with Cingular, actually when Cingular bought AT&T, Cingular had to divest themselves from alot of markets in North Carolina and these customers were turned over to SunCom. SunCom promptly required every ex-Cingular customer to resign their contracts and purchase new phones. It was a huge stink, all over the news for weeks.

But the agreement would not help in this situation. Since T-Mobile does not have local numbers here, one would have to go with SunCom as there are no local numbers for T-Mobile. In our area Cingular actually leases their block of numbers from Sprint.

Any company you decide to have cellular service with has to offer local numbers in order to use them. US Cellular is similar as they only offer local numbers for the very western part of the state.

The absolute best way to see where the towers are that your cellular provider owns (thus provides local numbers for) is to look at the coverage map for their prepaid service. Most providers only allow the use of prepaid phones on their "owned" networks and charge you for use on other networks.

I worked for Alltel for 3 years and am currently the Market Director for another national CDMA carrier. In my 15 years in the cellular industry, it constantly amazes me that there is cellular service in the US at all. The spectrum (A side and B side radio frequencies) ownership is so fragmented across the US that it is almost impossible to know who owns what, where!

I think that most of the time if you have something that isn't allowed then you have the chance of getting suspended anyway. I think the original poster got lucky and I say I was just lucky and the school was just tired of talking to me so they let you me go. However arguing usually does make it worse and in my situation there was things on my iPhone that the school absolutely didn't need to see and I didn't see how I had to give it up.

Why take that attitude? Sometimes it is nothing more than a simple mistake. However, if you automatically start to throw defenses up, you will make people think that you have something to hide. I would simply lock the device and hand it over then retrieve it on the way home. No biggie.

Algae. There's a type that can be used to make liquid fuels, and another (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biological_hydrogen_production) that produces hydrogen from photosynthesis.
