So today I decided to swap out the main fan in my MDD. I didn't like that my CPU temps hovered at 54-58*, even with Arctic Silver 5 and the slightly better heatsink.
So I removed the factory Delta fan, and installed another fan the same size from another PC I had. Only difference is the new one has a higher CFM, and I hooked it up to direct (full) power instead of the logic board.
The result? A 10-15* drop in CPU temps, which makes me happy. Plus it's slightly quieter. Now the temps are 40-45*.
I DID try the factory fan with direct power, but it was enormously loud. It ran at 35-38*, but it was simply too loud to be a good tradeoff.

Do you have something in Cydia called Lockdown Pro installed?
No I did not have that installed only BTkeyboard and BTmouse plus activator and TVout2 (which I think was the problem). I actually fixed the problem by installing sbsettings and respringing the whole thing. Works fine now. A bit of a scare though as i thought an Itunes restore would fix it and it did not. All is well now. :)

You would probably get a quick answer in the MacBook forum (this is the Mac Pro desktop forum) but I think any office screen cleaner and lint-free cloth will do the job.
Yep. The key is lint-free, so you don't scratch the screen.

Am I the only one who didn't like gears of war? I just thought it was incredibly boring. I couldn't stand more than 1/2 an hour playing it.
A movie based on it? The only good game => movie crossover I can think of was the tomb raider movies, and they we're only slightly above average. The mario movie was fun in the stuipest sense, but not good in the least.

+1 from me also. Way back in the day when I was running my first DEC VMS system (where I was the only user), an experienced friend told me: "Don't confuse SYSTEM with power or authority or being cool. Think of SYSTEM as the account that gives you the authority to make truly disastrous mistakes. Use it only when you have to."
Great advice, OP. When you do something dumb with a user account (and who hasn't?) you don't harm your system.

I have yet to find any DVD-R's that will burn at 2x in my 103 Superdrive. I bought some TDK 2x media, and for the first time ever, I was given the 'option' of burning at 2x. However, as soon as I clicked on 'burn', I was given a 'media error'. So I chose 1x and the TDK's burned fine. I know someone has found media that will actually burn at 2x !?!?!? Please share the brand name........

Got there about 5:30 and the line moved pretty quickly once 6 rolled around I thought. This is my first post in Leopard. I am LOVING it. I picked up 10.5 and FCE HD so I have plenty of good times ahead!
Met some nice people in line too, great conversation the whole time. Nashville has a great (and growing) mac community! Many of the people (including myself) I talked to were recent switchers... pretty cool!
Hope everyone is enjoying Leopard as much as I am. The dock is just hawt! :D

I wouldn't wait for the Macintels, but I heard there are some dual-dual-Powermacs around the corner - I'd wait two more weeks for them.

but i don't know if it would be able to do data.. cell calls yes, but data out of the box, probably not.
From the photo they posted, it looks like they've got data (albeit, 1xRTT). Don't know if they had to do any additional modification to get that, though.

It's been down for a while. I went there a couple of weeks ago to check the specs on a friend's G3 iMac... it must be frustrating having a site so successful that it needs to be shut down.
Let's hope that never happens here.

OK, I'll try to make it simpler, so you can understand.

If you have a folder and you create an alias, anything you drag to the alias will actually be placed in the folder, as illustrated by the arrows labeled "2" in the screen capture above. You will not have one copy of a pic in the folder and another copy in the alias. An alias cannot contain pics or any files. It simply points to an existing file or folder.
As you can see by the arrow labeled "1" in the screen capture above, you can drag pictures directly from Photo Booth into any folder you choose. You can also drag a picture to the Mail icon on your Dock to attach that picture to an email. You can also click on a picture in Photo Booth and press the "delete" key to delete the picture, so nothing is saved in the Photo Booth folder.
Actually, it's not. Address Book and iCal don't give you the option to change the location of their associated files, and they're not the only ones. It's not uncommon for an app to not provide a method for changing default locations of associated files.
If I drag the picture from the actual Photo Booth application after I take it onto my desktop does it still put a copy of that photo in the Photo Booth folder?
