Sorry for the slow reply, was doing a bit of spider removal.
Viewing angles on most IPS panels should be around 178 degrees. One thing to consider is, are you going to be looking at it from an unusual angle? Most people I know look at monitors from the front! :D
Only direction you'll notice real degradation in picture quality on an IPS is vertically and that won't be an issue, unless you're freakishly tall and you like your monitor at your ankles.
I used to worry a lot about similar things but once I'd researched it realised that there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of difference until you start spending lots and lots of money, and at that point it'll be past the stage of diminishing returns for average computer users.
I was wondering about viewing angles, because at night I sometimes flip the screen around to face the bed, and watch a movie. Because the desk is about a foot higher than the bed, and it doesnt tilt down much, the colours look a bit 'off'.
And when it gets to a dark scene, I really notice the backlight.

You can set the power button double-tap option to pause/play the current song with the latest firmware.
Alternatively, the remote add-ons work with the nano 6th gen.
Wow, thanks iEvolution and Porco! I had no idea, especially the double tap to pause. That makes the nano a lot more attractive!

Hi. I'm hoping to get a 64gb black to connect with Verizon. It takes me about 1.5 hours to get to Kenwood so any tips on the best time to get there?

For all those having this issue (which seem to be A LOT) send a bug report. Hopefully with enough people having this issue, Apple will release a new software update that actually doesn't crash.
https://bugreport.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/RadarWeb.woa/wa/signIn
Update: Bug submitted for Macbook 6,1 but anyone running other hardware that has the same problem should submit a bug report.

I'd like to see them get out of this 8/16 GB "rut" and increase the storage size of these to 64+...

Apple can't delay the powermac much longer. It's holding back all their products. They can't release new Powerbooks until the 1.25s arrive. How would it look if you could get a 1GHZ powerbook for $3200 and the 1.25s aren't even out yet. I still say they'll be out early october.
And as for new Powermacs, expect to wait 6 months after the 1.25s are released. So for now it looks like spring time. So kiss goodbye the G5s in January becuase anyone expecting them is going to be throughly disapointed.

meltedcaramel is looking for constructive criticism, not, "go hire a designer".
I give him or her tremendous credit for doing this, and putting it here for us to help him/her learn.
How can anyone get better at something they're attempting to do if the answer is always to go find someone else to do it?

I've used it on my Mac Pro, but only while in XP. I've played GTR2 and a couple other demo's with it and it works great. I believe you need to find the wingman drivers for it. just google wingman drivers or Driving force pro pc drivers or something. I think there are drivers for OS X as well, but i'm not certain on that.

I just noticed that some of my Canon S-90 (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0908/09081907canons90.asp) camera video clips had missing preview icons like they usually have (instead it came with generic Quicktime icons) in Finder and furthermore found out that they were unplayable in Quicktime ("File is not a video file").
Following some other threads on the same subject I followed a suggestion to try opening the files with VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). To my surprise they all opened and played perfectly!
So I assume the header or something minor is damaged, while the video/audio itself is intact. How do I fix those files so they will also play in Quicktime Player?
I'm on a dual core iMac running MacOSX 10.6.6 and have both Quicktime X and Quicktime 7 player installed (I find the Quicktime update that come with Snow Leopard to be rather limited).

I've found a solution to play Amazon Cloud Player on the iPhone:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb6rmt9GnN8
Just stream it from the computer via WiFi2HiFi. Its handy when you have a sound dock and a computer in the same room.
You are right! WiFi2HiFi app can not only stream Amazon Cloud Player, but also
Spotify, Grooveshark and all the others. My favorite app!

I bought a silver iPod mini for my girlfriend on Feb. 13th, 10 days before the new ones were released. I got it at the Apple store in Orlando at the Millenia Mall. It cost me $233.89 after tax, a $10 coupon and the education discount. The morning the new models were announced, I called the store. They have a ten day price match policy and I had bought it exactly ten days ago. The manager said they would credit the new lower price to my credit card and I should expect it to show up in about a week or two. On Friday, three days after I spoke to the manager, a credit shows up in my account for $74.99. This means that I paid 158.90 including tax. Not a bad deal I would say considering it came with the charger, both firewire and USB cables and belt clip.
I like Apple more and more each time I buy something from them. I took the $74.99 and bought myself an iPod Shuffle. :D

Honestly, it looks like a really ugly post-processed depth-of-field effect. Probably just did gaussian blur instead of lens blur. Then they masked out (or masked in) the parts they wanted in focus.

Not sure if there was a thread on this that I missed, but just wanted to inform any digital B&W junkies out there that the newest version of Silver EFEX Pro is available. It is a software plugin for LightRoom/Aperture/Photoshop to help with conversions of color images to B&W. Does a pretty nice job with minimal hassle. Much better than the "generic" conversions these programs offer.
Here is the link:

I like the Nik plugins in general and this one in particular. I haven't played around with this newest version yet (just upgraded tonight), but I love the last version. Pleasing results with a minimal learning curve.

It only works on iPhones. iPhones get a data connection over 3G and/or EDGE. iPod Touches only support wifi. So even if you buy mywi, it is still not going to work.
