Wow, that is great. Does the amount of the student discount depend on school, or is it the same regardless? Also, I called Apple store and they told me that the student discount is anywhere from $50 to $200. I configured the iMac online (Apple's site Education Store) and the difference between a regular price and the student price is $135. $2,349 (reg. price) vs. $2,214 (student price). What am I missing? 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 2TB Serial ATA Drive, everything else is default.
The low end 21" gets a $50 discount, the rest get a $100.
MBP's get a $100 discount for the 13" and base 15" model. The higher end 15" and 17" models get a $200 discount.
I picked up a 27" yesterday, and received the $100 education discount.

So anyway I installed disk #1 and proceeded to erase and do a clean install. So everything went well but it did not ask for the second disk??? weird. But it said install completed and it rebooted then a folder with a flashing question mark was on my desk top.
I was re-reading this to see if there was anything I was missing. Explain this part above very carefully. If you re-formatted hard drive, then installed disc 1, then erased, this would be why you're getting an error cause nothing is there, and hence why it wouldn't ask for disc 2 cause there is nothing on the hard drive asking for anything. That is why I said format the hard drive, and start over.

I think so, but I'm not sure... my Wii looks alot better with component them composite on 480i, so using the same logic the picture should get better, although I don't thing it will improve as much as the Wii did.

As far as I know Nvidia and ATI have bugs in the drivers that will not be fixed for GPU crunching until snow leopard is out and new science apps are written to take advantage of it. I think Open CL is the programing API that fixes this with new drivers and OSX side stuff. I am told the science apps will need to be recompiled and maybe rewritten. I have questions posted on the BOINC and SETI message boards asking about this.

no difference in the function... i guess apple removed the logo because now macs do more than mac os x. as we can run windows it would definitely look out of place... having said that i liked the logo myself...
