Kinda ugly.
Somewhat. I definately will miss the cool clear shade on the G5. I would always run that computer with the aluminum cover off. Looked so nice. It would have been nice if they put XEON on the inside somewhere. Just too plain inside.
I would swear the mac pro is shorter though. Is it just me?

How so? Everything he said fits the facts as we know them. There is NO evidence that this information gets transmitted to ANYONE, and believe me people are looking hard to prove otherwise. So this makes Steve look like he's telling the truth.

Because those screens WILL look better to those normal customers. Text and graphics will look sharper, and clearer.

Just wanna give my 2 cents here:
1 - Everyone seems to be forgetting we are talking about INTEL here. Not just apple. So the rabbit hole is far more deeper. While Apple used to stick with what they got, back in the ol' Power days... there were no other "PC/Laptop" equivalent to Apple's lineup, as far as OS and app. But these days where people are talking about OSX86 and all... the other companies will be shipping Meroms, Conroes and other sorts of "Cities"... Intel doesn't really care about the Mac Mania. Because OSX is not "that" exclusive anymore. Yes, I do hate using Windows, BUT, the new laptops from Alienware, Dell, HP etc... all come with a glossy "VISTA READY" logo.
2 - Apple should realise that since they lauched the first MBP, so we all can expect more frequent updates on all Apple lineup. Because Steve's Jeans want's to be new (and news) first, always, right?
3 - If Merom, etc.. are 32bit, then 10.4.7 is 64bit? :confused:

The people that are against apple here (and want the advertisement to stay) are the same people that are so against iAds. It's quite ridiculous. I find it extremely odd that a large company be a part of the jailbreak community to begin with. They could've used iAd and had much more success anyway. That theme is ugly. I don't want advertisements on my iphone if i jailbreak it. That's stupid. If i want a scion theme, there's probably 25 other people that have made better ones. So it's a moot point. Get your panties out of a wad.

Apple had a phenomenal launch for the iPad. There were over 1000 apps available specifically for the iPad on launch day, with many 100's more appearing every week.
It was literally the strongest new product launch that I have ever experienced.
They managed the release of a new product where the quality and quantity of apps felt like the product had been around for years.
(sure, leveraging iOS helped, but Google failed at leveraging the same opportunity for their Honeycomb launch)

Mobileme is certainly worth more than free. Apple doesn't scrape your emails and other data to target adds at you a la Google.

Maybe not at WWDC, but I don't see them waiting till Fall to put out new iPhone hardware, hold iOS5 till then, maybe, but not new hardware.
They risk losing people to Android, WebOS, etc... as the remaining iPhone3GS people all start coming off of contract, and nobody will go iPhone4 knowing 5 is just months away.
This waiting around also gives 3GS users a few months to check out other products (new Pre w/WebOS, etc). Apple does not want people looking around during that break time.
I'm in that boat. although I'm most likely not willing to 'jump ship'. :) would just be disappointed at a few more months of an 'old phone'.

As much as I want to see Apple sell phones, I also like to see healthy competition to keep away anti-trust issues. Apple is for people who like quality high-end stuff and Android is for Kmart shoppers ;)

2010 - Wrong. Mobile OS implies iOS, and all the stats ignore the iPad and iPod Touch. Apple is behind Android only in mobile phone side, and not by much when looking at a world view.
2011 - I know a number of people who are in that 10% of jailbreakers, and they would still stick with Apple even if it was closed off. They enjoy the tinkering, but understand that they are hacking into their devices via exploits that Apple has a responsibility to close from a security standpoint.
2012 - Doubtful. Windows Mobile share of the market is still dropping even with WP7. Microsoft is likely to mismanage WP7 just like their other products. WebOS? It's practically dead right now, and would take a lot for it to approach anywhere near iOS next year.
Apple is still very much focused on the consumer. Yes, they control their environment well, but your particular complaint is a no win situation for them. They could ignore jailbreaking, leaving security exploits in the OS, and people would bash them for poor security. But if they close those exploits, people complain their freedom is being taken away, or being attacked. Yes, Apple could allow more customization, and other features jailbreaking brings. But it would require engineering time, and that time is currently being spent on trying to keep the platform advancing to stay competitive. It's all about priorities, and I think we all here can agree a better notification system and other nagging iOS issues are much higher on the list then letting people skin the screen with Scion icons.

The more things that are in the cloud, the closer I get to hitting AT&T's 150GB home DSL (non-uverse) data limit.
I just dropped them for this very reason, went back to Brighthouse networks. 40Mbps no cap. :D

I'm one of them. My family came here a decade ago with $100 bucks in our pockets. We worked like there's no tomorrow and now we have houses, our kids are graduating colleges.
The way I see it is that "american born and bred" group of people (there's only 1 race - human race) has been spoiled with entitlements and what not. Times are changing and this group is not prepared. This group has to compete with "legal" immigrants and "illegal" immigrants. It's really hard for them because they've never face such competitions before. They have to change their attitude in order to compete. Some realized this and some didn't. Those who realized this is already prepared and are pretty well ahead of the race. Those who didn't are those that're complaining.
Now, back to the topic. :D

My 2-year contract finishes next month and my 3G is almost inoperative. No way I want to buy into the antenna problems with a 4. Glad you're happy though.Antennagate! Nice blast from the past ;)

I'd just go for an Android unless you are really heavily invested in iOS apps. Last time I looked I was a few hundred $$ in on the appstore, since xmas 08. I tip my hat to you that you still buy your software when Jailbroken phones can easily use pirated software.
I think you'd be surprised how many people like me are out there. I support developers, regardless if they're developing on the App Store, or the Cydia Store, because they're both working equally hard.
The only reason I jailbreak my device is for the visual tweaks... well and NOSPOT, lol, I hate that crap.
I think you'd be surprised how many people like me are out there. I support developers, regardless if they're developing on the App Store, or the Cydia Store, because they're both working equally hard.
The only reason I jailbreak my device is for the visual tweaks... well and NOSPOT, lol, I hate that crap.
