Common = conforming to the usual standard. 360 crashing problems aren't common, Wii nunchuck problems aren't common. Hell - PSP dead pixels aren't common. Windows viruses are common :D
Zane - try Wii Sports boxing. Chances are as soon as the nunchuck is disconnected it will pause the game, and due to the nature of the game you'll be able to see if it's a faulty port or just COD3?
Well I would say the problem occurs for me only like once every two weeks and I have to restart a couple of times but thanks I think Ill try that.

My wife's 3GS stopped working. So I reset it. After about 20 minutes, the thing finally came up and so she preceded to log back in to Facebook. The first attempt failed and gave us the message you will see in the attached photo. What on earth is this?
The phone has the latest OS version, has never been jailbroken, and the Facebook app was just downloaded from the app store.
Any ideas?

"I don't want this to turn into a mudslinging contest."

If you did not want a mudslinging contest, you would not have slung mud.

I am not a "hopeful 'visual artist'." Currently, visual art is my primary income pipeline. As my resume states, I am the Director of Promotion and Marketing for a large consulting firm in Silicon Valley -- not a position reached by being "hopeful".
However, after Berkeley, architecture will obviously grossly supersede it as an income source.
My "quotations" were an approximation of the intention contained in your original message. To say otherwise is only a self-congratulating delusion.
In my life I have never rammed anything down anyone's throat.
The world would be full of pity if you turned out older than me. Let's hope that isn't the case.
--C.S.
P.S., Nothing you said was potent enough to "destroy" any "system". (And you're trying to say I'M riding a "little cloud"?)

My friend has a 2G, 4 gig one, but she likes it better than the Nanos and I'm guessing she wouldn't part with it for less than the price she bought it for. How high are you willing to go?

It does indeed fit the 3g. I have a 3g and it fits great. The little plug fits tight. I've had my case for several months now and the plug still fits great. Just as snug and secure as when I first installed it.
Buy one, you won't regret it.

Even if climate change is 100% conclusively proven to be human caused, I would still argue that wealth creation is the best way to combat it. Florida floods...move. Can't farm in Mexico anymore, Canada now becomes farmable.
So exactly what the Chinese have been doing?

For sale is my Logitech G25, less than a year old, comes without a box but with a copy of D.i.R.T, images below.
I am really after collection as postage will be silly given the weight of this, all buttons work fine, selling as moving fully to Apple computers, and my gaming machine is also up for sale separately.
I am located inside the UK, in Rochdale just off the M62 for reference. I am asking 120 for it.

i think that you should be fine getting an emac, its a good machine and will be comparable in performance to your ibook due to similar (albeit not identical) specs. up the ram if you want to.
i understand your problem with the moving of the ibook, but to put your mind to rest, it is designed to be put up with certain stresses (whithin reason):D so it can survive a short trip in a backpack everyday, you will probably see mostly physical wear and tear, and no hardware damage (unless you drop it).
many would be inclined to say: what use is a portable if you dont use its portability?
in a matter of weeks i shall be carrying my powerbook around my new campus, but i did buy a special bag for it so im not that worried about it getting damaged. UNDUE CARE IS NEEDED!
if you are still paranoid, buy yourself a good protective case/bag (not a skintight sleeve).
or if you are still worried, go with the imac.
hope i have been a help
tastic
Yes, you have been of help. I think I'm probably still going to move the iBook around (just not as much) when needed - to update files between the 2. I'll definitley being upping the RAM, to probably 1.5GB, as I know that the eMac can take it.
iMac is just to expensive for me (13 years old :o)

Eric, which side of your gf's car got hit? A "T-bone" accident is a very scary thing. It's amazing that you are both unscathed, but you WILL be much more sore today and tomorrow than you were last night. Make sure you both consult a doctor. ;)

Once Lion comes out, will it also ship with refurbs? or will refurb macs (2010 models) continued to be shipped with snow leapord??
They might not be pre-installed, but you should be able to get a drop in disc for free or a small fee.

Simple. Use carbon copy cloned to mirror your Mac on the external drive. Then boot off the external on a friends Mac and sync your iOS devices with your data

I want an app that pits Chuck Norris vs. Charlie Sheen. I'm not sure who would be WINNING!
Oh come on, do you have to ask?
(Everyone knows it is Norris. I mean, Norris doesn't even need to come on any shows and claim anything, other people do the claiming for him!)

I had an Otterbox defender and loved it too. Unfortunately, after about a week it started creaking and moving around under the silicon (i.e. the two halves of the case would move in relation to each other).
Otterbox were fantastic and replaced it for me FOC (they just shipped one from the USA to the UK completely FOC and didn't ask for the old one back)
However, after a couple of months, the replacement started doing exactly the same and I ended up having to tape it together under the silicon to hold it together.
Basically, I think what happened is that the clips stopped holding the case together tightly over time (I'd taken it out a few times), and for that reason I'd definitely recommend keeping it in the case 24/7 otherwise you could end up with the same problem I had

Wow, thats a lot of 'tars, and a lot of people with great designing skills.
Once again, Congrats to Lacero, dietcokevanilla, and FistfulofAngst
I wonder how many 'tars will see at the 3,000,000 mark
And possibly a 'Mac Rumors' Category?

"I guess my concern is with the unfamiliarity with the structure of the backup folder itself. Leaves me wondering what may happen if/when technology fails and this becomes corrupt for something."
This is EXACTLY why I recommend to others that they DO NOT use Time Machine for backups.
Time and time and time again -- right here on Macrumors -- I read postings of the essence, "help, my hard drive crashed, and I'm trying to access my Time Machine backup, and it won't mount, etc., etc."
If they had used one of the "clone" backup utilities that create bootable backups in POFF (plain ol' finder format), they wouldn't be posting those messages. They'd be up and running in a matter of minutes.
But because of the way TM "packages" its backups, there can be problems in "moments of extreme need". And we see the results right here on Macrumors.
TM gives the illusion of making backups simple, easy, and "automatic", and, as far as that goes, it does. It's EASY to "backup" with Time Machine.
What can be DIFFICULT is trying to ACCESS those backups later on when the user is beset with all kinds of problems.
Yes, it takes more effort and forethought when you use CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper as you backup tool. BUT -- when things have gone all to h*** and you're wondering what to do next, they make it blindingly EASY to get restarted. TM does not.
That's the difference.

The multi-gestures I'm referring to in the beta were the four finger gestures Apple did not release in the 4.3 GM. Gestures such as pinching in and out, four finger up/down swipes, etc. Activator in JB isn't as seamless as the beta gestures.
I know those gestures, I have them enabled in my non-jailbroken iPad 2 on 4.3 GM. You enable them with Xcode, just as you did with the beta.
