$179, including shipping.
Not bad, especially since you aren't shipping it off until your 3G is in your hand!

Are you fingers are all broken? Most modern Mac keyboards have System Volume keys on kets F10 (mute), F11 (Volume down) & F12 (Volume up). Why not use your fingers?
Plus I use Audio Hijack Pro (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/11067/audio-hijack-pro) to control many system sounds (and record any system sound).

I mainly like it to play old games on. It is much more reliable than an emulator.

Full disclosure: Rearth sent me this case to review.
Before the case arrived, I was really hoping that it wouldn't turn out to be yet another problematic iPod touch case. Happily, I can report that the Rearth Ringke case is a product I can recommend without hesitation.
Let's have a look... (click any photo to enlarge it)
Here it is inside its packaging:
http://www.megethos.com/Phrasikleia/RingkeCase-1.jpg
Nothing much to say about the packaging. It did its job of protecting the case on its voyage to me in Europe.
The Ringke case is available in many colors. This one is called "maroon". It's a nice color for anyone who wants something dark that isn't black. Brighter colors can sometimes compete with the display for attention, so it's nice that Rearth offers a variety of darker colors.
On the iPod, the Ringke case is nice and snug:
http://www.megethos.com/Phrasikleia/RingkeCase-2.jpg
http://www.megethos.com/Phrasikleia/RingkeCase-3.jpg
Possibly the best thing about this case is the consistency of its silicone. They really got the mixture right in creating a case that is flexible and shock absorbent, but that won't end up coated in a layer of dust and lint. The few specks of dust you see in these photos is all this case is likely to pick up ever. It's just dense enough to keep its good looks, yet flexible enough to be resilient:
http://www.megethos.com/Phrasikleia/RingkeCase-8.jpg
My favorite feature of this case is definitely its button covers:
http://www.megethos.com/Phrasikleia/RingkeCase-4.jpg
These work so much better than the bare buttons on the iPod touch 4g, which are rather difficult to reach on the sloping sides of the device. These button covers make the buttons feel much more responsive and easy to find. They also ensure that dust will not enter the device through the cracks around the buttons.
Both the volume buttons and the power button have these covers instead of cut-outs. There are cut-outs for all of the ports, for the camera, the light sensor, the speaker, and even for the Apple logo--a nice touch:
http://www.megethos.com/Phrasikleia/RingkeCase-5.jpg
http://www.megethos.com/Phrasikleia/RingkeCase-6.jpg
http://www.megethos.com/Phrasikleia/RingkeCase-7.jpg
As you can see, everything is accommodated nicely. There is no vignetting with either camera, and all of the ports are fully functional with the case on. I don't have a docking station of any sort, so I can't say how well this case will work with one.
I find this case to be far more comfortable in the hand than plastic skins are. The latter tend to have rough spots that scrape the fingers. This case does have a little ridge all along the sides that is probably a seam, but it's soft enough not to be a bother.
One potential weak spot of the Ringke case may be the strip that extends along the bottom of it. That is where the case is at its thinnest, and I suppose that it could be snagged easily by a rambunctious child or perhaps some object within a bag. However, after tugging on this part a bit, I didn't get a sense that it would lose its shape or break very easily. It seems plenty sturdy.
So there you have it. If you're interested in a skin-type of case, I can't imagine what more you could want for $16.99. The Ringke case is simply a great accessory for a great device.

I'm sure this has been asked before but I need current info on current products. What are some good Time Capsule alternatives?
I have a 27" iMac with a 2TB hard drive and currently have no external backup/storage solution. I think the Time Capsule is overpriced and I don't need its wireless base station functionality. I just want to be able to back everything up neatly and efficiently to a 2TB external drive that is compatible with Time Machine.
Anybody know a model # or brand name that I should go with that you've either heard good things about or had personal experience with?

If apple switches to ARM for a main processor, you'd want to get in BEFORE they switch lol. In house processors are a joke for desktop use. It's like building your own car in your garage

It does VGA at 1280x768, takes in two component (1 HD and the other 480p) and the standard composite and s-video and coaxial. The picture is really great on this, one tiny stuck pixel I can't even see now. (I feel I should be totally honest)
I have it listed here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006I5QY/102-3882792-5235300?v=glance&n=172282) but I'd be willing to cut a deal if you drop me a PM.
(BTW, this is widescreen, so it would look great with one of those new xbox 360s I know are out there)

Stand on the eastern side of the lake; there should be a couple of rocks in front of you (in the water). You should be able to see the red fish swimming around. Casy your line, and when the bobber thing dips, give a quick jerk to the rod (ha ha).
Then just wait. Link reels in the fish on his own-- that was what messed me up. I thought I had to do some kind of reeling in action, and I didn't.

It would be far easier to bypass the router completely. What could be happening is that the router isn't able to (or needs to be refreshed) get internet information from your Mac. Login to your router and see what IP information it's pulling.

Thanks. That does help. One question where is the best place to sell a old computer? (eBay, Craigslist, other?) Update to drive problem: Drive has now accepted System Disk and has moved it onto the reader. However the reader seems to need lube. It's not spinning up properly. Worse however is the fact that the disk is now stuck in the drive. Manual and force ejecting raise the disk up but don't pop it out and there seems to be some thing holding the disk in the back so I can't pull it out. The mechanism that raises the disk also refuses to stay up after ejecting. It wants to slide back onto the reader immediately after it finishes rising. Help!

The 170 is a great computer, but not particularly rare. In mint condition, perhaps someone is willing to shell out a bit more. I'd say normally about $20, but mint, perhaps $40? Most batteries aren't working well these days, so not having one isn't necessarily a big deal. Although the machine is a lot more physically balanced with one installed - it tends to rock backwards if one isn't there.
The G3 I'd just donate, honestly.

Instead of probing your MBP in weird ways, why not just use it as a computer? This isn't Facebook in the flesh, stop poking it.

Looking for an Ipod touch 32gb for my sister. Would prefer to be in mint/pristine condition, and willing to pay about $300-$325 for it depending on the condition. If you are looking to unload yours, let me know. I am located in CA.
