If there is nothing you absolutely need to save on the external, you might consider re-initializing it with Disk Utility into a single partition....

Story of how a simple photograph posted on Flickr went viral around the world, and how one man's face will be remembered, but his name won't be, unfortunately. An eye opening report.

What is it? It's a midboard Frame that replaces the Silver Stainless steel to black SS. And since i couldn't find one bloody picture of it completed with an iPhone 4 i just decided to do it myself.

That is what the actual product looks like.

It fits perfectly. Better than a bumper on my White iPhone 4. As for scratched back it does scratch easy but if you want to display the back of your phone for that look it is a decent compromise. You can always put a skin on the case!
I think it's a great case, I just wish it was I'm different colours!

I have a pre HDMI Mini. Previously plugged and played with other LCD screens, hitachi and samsung, no problem.
But the new Bravia doesn't recognize the mini as a PC input.
I screen share my Mini from my PowerBook and the Sony tv IS picked up in the display settings with 1980x1080 res.
And you can trick the Bravia into recognizing the Mini by plugging in another machine first (I used a PowerBook), but once you choose to watch TV the PC input is lost, and you have to swap cords again. Frustrating and unacceptable!!
Has anyone had success with a mini DVI to HDMI female adaptor? (to avoid VGA). Or is the problem to do with the Mac Mini (e.g. Doesn't send HDCP compliant signals like PowerBook does)??
TIA
Matthew

What's your favorite external battery? Given no modular MBA batt, figure this becomes pretty important for extended "away from wall power" time. (Outdoor enthusiasts especially.)

Well, that'd definitely be hard to put a price on...
Seeing the prices of current iPods,
Nano- $149
Classic-$249
It'd have to be somewhere in between there, but I'm not sure anyone would find that to be a good deal.

I would also suggest that if you are buying an external your biggest bang for your buck would be to go with a 2 or even 3 tb drive.

Save as a png or tiff, both of these formats support transparency. Using one of these will flatten everything into a one layer file. Then bring that into fcp.
Never use a PSD because for one if you have any layer effects they will not show up in FCP. The second is if you do have a PSD comp set up where you do want to animate the individual layers. Its better to use Motion or AfterEffects. This is what there made to do much easier then FCP. Then export a .mov using ProRes 4444 or Animation Codec, because these both support an alpha channel if needed so you can layer over your video in FCP and see what ever underneath it.
Both of these support native PSD file import containing layers. But once again you might need to flatten the effects especially in Motion. AfterEffects I think holds the layer effects because of them both being Adobe apps.
I prefer to save each individual image as a seperate png or tiff and then resemble myself in Motion of AfterEffects. That way you leave the original PSD untouched and can go back and adjust things if needed and resave over the old file.
I just feel you have more control this way. But thats just me.

export all contacts to "vCard" format, then import them into AddressBook. simple!
(However, there may have been some revision to AddressBook since I switched away from Entourage. There may be an "import Contacts" function in AddressBook, but I don't think so.)
Tha's the easiest way.

For your text ( #membershipcontent ), remove the "position: relative" and/or "left: 285px"
Think of relative positioning as a "nudge" -- the browser does most of the rendering and then moves any elements relatively positioned by the number of pixels you tell it. In your case, 285px on the left which bumps it to the right.

Different file systems use different minimum size file allocations.
I remember on some older systems the minimum was 8kb.

i bought an ipad original today in the $100 price drop and love it. i would have gone ipad 2 but there is no retina so ill pass.
anyway, the number one feature that would almost triple the value of it to me would be the ability to answer texts i get from my iphone, on my ipad. its such a hassle if im walking around with it, to set it in a safe place and get my phone out of my pocket or backpack. is there anyway to do this? i will obviously jailbreak it if necessary.

A little bit of a weird case here...helping out a friend of mine who has a 2.4 gHz White MacBook, 2GB RAM with latest 10.5 updates. She noticed that her iCal was acting sort of wonky, so I told her to go do some system updates. Upon updating, everything seemed fine...except iCal was still acting up again. Some days later, she was working on something when all of a sudden the screen went black and her sleep indicator light went on, but the computer wouldn't respond to any commands so she turned it off (pressed down power button until it turned off). When she turned it back on, the Apple gray screen came up with the progress indicator swirling, but for forever. I did the normal things such as reset PRAM, SMC, all that fun stuff, and nothing worked. I went in to Verbose Mode and found that it would just hang after saying something about loading the ethernet adapter (can't remember the line...something like "Apple Yukon yadda yadda", but I knew it was the Ethernet adapter for sure). I thought it had hung there...until I did it again and accidentally unplugged the computer and then a new line came up saying how the power state was different.

Apple 'fixed' the overclocking bug that ZDnet used to speed up 2008 Mac Pros unfortunately, it only works in Leopard 10.5.x.

If you have to ask these type of questions, you should just use OS X client. You can still run a "server" with the client.

It's a bit rich, over here in Europe were much more forward in Gay rights, maybe we should be teaching the US how it's done?!
Can't we work together? Suggestions that all of Europe is ahead of the US in gays is most likely not true, but I agree Europe on average seems to be ahead in gays rights generally.
