It's been driving me crazy. It started only three or so weeks ago. A summary of the issue is as follows: around 6PM Pacific Standard Time, every single night (so far as I've been able to track and experience), I'll be on ventrilo with friends, and suddenly they will start to cut out. I'll watch their speaker icons stay green as if they're speaking with an open mic, but in reality, it's just lag on my side somehow. "Ping" as displayed on the ventrilo application will erratically change every ten to fifteen seconds or so anywhere from 200ms to 30,000ms. All the while, traceroute, ping, etc., all these will return pings under 200 while this is happening. Outbound is fine, there is no upload lag whatsoever, no lag in the game, closing the game doesn't help (WoW in case you're wondering). Skype experiences similar inbound lag. This will all last until about 8PM PST, give or take, but mostly give.
So, it's not a network problem as far as I can prove, yet it's entirely network related. It's mindblowing. Sadly, I'm a guild leader on the game I play, and I run rated games, so it's very important that this works for me, but it only starts right around the time that I can schedule these games. My ISP absolutely will not help me with this as I cannot show them via ping tests that it's their problem. I'm afraid it may not be.
My CPU during this time seems okay. I can't really find any red flags. I haven't really installed any new widgets or anything that I can think of. I've tried quitting various processes during all this, like relaunching finder, quitting iTunes, Safari, even WoW, and even just trial and error through the activity monitor - no luck.
I tried running sudo tcpdump in the terminal and I really have no idea how to read it, not too seasoned in network analysis... But I will attach a picture. I know it doesn't help that you can't see my IP address, but I am kinda paranoid about posting it, too.
Anyway, any help would be a blessing. Thanks.
Picture 11.png is the tcpdump and activity monitor. 22 and 21 is a full list of running processes.

Question for the masses...
I am not doing any photo editing, but I going to be running GNS3 which is networking simulation program used to simulate Cisco and Juniper networking devices and it is very CPU intensive.
I am currently running it on a 13'' MBP 2.4 ghz C2D and it runs at 75-85% cpu.
If I maxed out the MBA , do you think that it could handle it or am I just wasting my time and money and I should just get the 15'' quadcore as planned?
Thanks in advance!

I've been using the computer in the same location since I got it, which is in a climate controlled environment. Yes, outside it is warmer, but inside it has been the same temperature all along.
I uninstalled flash (if you notice in the picture it says the flash is running in safari, even though I only had it on non-flash websites) and after doing so, the temps seemed to have gone back down to the previous temperature range.

Hello,
You could run OS X 10.5 Server on Power PC hardware. Unfortunately Apple does not support 10.6+ on Power PC systems.
OS X 10.5 Server is very good and you should be fine running this version for basic file sharing, etc...
Documentation on OS X server is available on the Apple site:
http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/resources/documentation.html
Most of the config for 10.6 is similar to 10.5 for basic settings.
Hopefully this is helpful.

I bought a used 1.33 15" PB about two weeks ago, got it late last week, and am just getting around to checking it out. 10's a big difference from 9.1 (to say nothing of the upgrade from a 6400). Anyway, the sytem's got the previous owner's information in it - all her settings, etc. I emailed her for her password (haven't heard back yet), but then I thought it might be better to simply clean install from the system disks and start w/ a fresh drive. There's nothing on the machine I need that I don't have backed up already; is there any reason not to proceed w/ a clean install?

Glad to hear that; just to chime in, I love using Parallel over bootcamp because I can instantly switch to other windows whenever I feel like doing something else; I haven't used bootcamp yet and aside from the varying tax the program holds, Parallel is great.

You are vague with "added a folder to Xcode", so I will ask, did you add it to the project? Have you checked to see if these images are being copied into your application bundle? If so, then they are probably in Contents/Resources, and if they are distinct from everything else in /Resources, then you can enumerate that (filtering for only these images), and work from there.

the one that was released in September/october 05 or january 05?
does it take PC2700 ram? that is the best question, will you do a direct trade for it?
The September and January 12"ers use the same RAM :D . PC2700 is the one. I can get a gig of RAM for $92. An iPod 20 gig is about $200 roughly new. So, I defiently won't do a direct trade. Are you willing to pay some cash? PM with your offer.

Any reason to run the Mini in 64 bit mode? I know it automatically boots in 32 bit mode and the holding the "6" and "4" keys at startup will boot it into 64 bit mode. But are there any advantages to it (will Handbrake run faster)?
I booted into 64 bit mode last night just for kicks and it took 2x as long to boot up and some quirky stuff happened once booted up.

Just copy the data to the external, make sure it is there and then delete it from the internal HD.
That easy huh? Thanks! I can always drag it back to my MacBook HD right if I have a customer who wants a specific photo? Thanks!

Of course there is the 4G charger for the iPhones but if you do not want to spend it then you can use an adapter and use the 1g charger. Otherwise you can purchase the 4G charger your handset. And the there is a one charger for your handset whose charger code is the 114795, it features are 1) LED power inductor 2) Durable coil core 3) It input is 12/24v and output is 11v,250 mA. I think it was compatible for you.

I have found an iMac G5 20" 1.8ghz for sale for $120, which seems like a good deal, but they said the video doesnt work. Although it does have a chime.
Is this a common issue?
Or is this not even worth spending the money to try to fix?

Hey all!
I am having a hard time avoiding the big bloated, slow monstrosity that is Xcode. I've even tried Xcode, but I disliked the UI and I would like to try an alternative that is simpler and much lighter.
Ideally, I'd prefer the IDE and the compiler to be cross-platform. It's strange coming from GNU/Linux to Mac OS X and it's one-way attitude.
Anyway, thanks in advance!
