You really think apple is going to let you store music that you didn't buy from them for free? My guess is all music purchased from iTunes can be streamed, and mobile me users can upload theirs.
I hope this isn't just for music though. In mobile me you can upload photos which is nice. I would love to see this done for movies. I buy a movie from apple and can forever stream through my apple tv or iDevice. Or a monthly renting plan.
I want my media to take up less space, be easily accessible, and priced fairly.
Nope, but I am hoping they will.. at least a small portion at the minimum. I highly doubt it though.

That's not how steam works. When you purchase something through steam, you can download and install it as many times as you want. If your computer crashes, all you have to do is reinstall steam log into your account and redownload it. This is one of the reasons why steam is so popular.
as far as the price. $50 for games is standard, especially for pc ( and I guess now mac ). It costs millions of dollars to make and promote a game. Most games for consoles are $60 and there PC counterpart are $50 because both microsoft and sony take $10 off each sale. If you are concerned with the length of the game, go read a few reviews and they will all tell you the game is much much longer then the original, plus it includes a co-op mode with different levels. $50 seems pretty good to me.
Also, it's supply/demand. Millions of people are going to go out and spend $50 on the game, so why not sell it at $50? The nice thing about steam is, if you can find it cheaper elsewhere, you can still install it on your PC/Mac and play it through steam. But a lot of people are willing to pay the $5 extra to get the convenience of not needing to ship or wait in a line to buy the game.
the streaming distribution of the game is much cheaper then phyiscal copy distribution. I just saying they can add an incentive to make people download it, and they make more MONEY. Which is a given they are making alot more per digital copy sold compared to phyiscal copy sold. There is sizible production cost with making phyiscal copy, distributing to retailers, and then giving cut to retailer who selling it. Especially as the title gets older and retailer take more on each sale.
Currently, I noted that it is cheaper to buy physical copy then it is to buy digital copy. That shouldn't be the case. And I believe eventually wont be the case in future for software. I not debating that there are costs involved with making these games, I am debating what the streaming model should look like. It show be cheaper.:o

OMG the telephone is white! OK, can MACrumors focus on macs now and leave iOS devices for a while??
Haha. I don't know where you've been for the last 1-2 years, but iOS dominates 95% of MacRumors. It's what sells (page views) man!

I had the same problem exactly after the latest jailbreak.

With Vista going to computer manufacturers now, I highly doubt that it will be pushed all the way into the summer. Although it is Microsoft, and this IS Vista, but I still don't think it would happen. MS would release it anyway and a crapload of updates following if necessary.
Chundles lives in Australia (southern hemisphere). So their autumn is our spring and their summer is our winter. So, he is predicting Vista on January 30th like Microsoft's announcement. Leopard should be out by Spring time. Even if Apple hurries, I think it will be March by the time it is out.

I think most consumers do not know carbon because they never had something like a racing bicycle made of it.
Many people will think apple has made the product worse or is just trying to safe costs when they see a carbon MacBook for the first time because they think it is "plastic" and not something high tech.

We all know that at WWDC there will be' no iPhone.
Why?
It's Apple said that! They say "come to see the FUTURE of the iOS".
So it's pretty obvious that they will not present iPhone at WWDC.
Do you really see Apple sell an iPhone 5 with an iOS 4.x ?
I think the only possibility is they announce iOS 5 and say it will be release "this summer" and then some weeks later hold an event specifically for thr iPhone with immediately availability.
Or: september.
One thing for sure: the release iOS 5 date they are going to announce at WWDC is the date in which we'll finally see the iPhone 5.
So what? The WWDC 2010 invitation simply stated "the center of the app universe" and made no mention of a new iPhone.

Your rebuttel makes no sense. He's not talking just about himself but in general about the risk of defection among people that arent willing to wait. Himself being an example.
With the fierce competition iOS faces from android right now and maybe also nokia by then, you seem like a fanboy out of touch with the present market reality. You can be sure he wont be the only one pondering this. Very risky move from apple if they would delay the next iphone IMNSHO.
No matter when they release a new phone, there are going to be people who are still under contract, close to being out, have been out for a while, etc. etc. The phones sell year round. The danger zone of people who may jump ship while waiting applies only to those who's contract expires around the time of the year that they have released new phones in the past. I know it's not unreasonable to suspect that the the bulk of people with iPhones have contracts that expire in that time frame, but I've never seen any numbers to confirm or contradict that. It also ignores subsidy policies/release schedules for countries outside the US.

That title is.. interesting? Okay it's a giant pun (and a biblical reference zing!). I think it would be facinating to have the non-authorized version from people who worked for, or fell under, his reign at Apple.
I like both sides of stories, but maybe that's just me.

@jaw04005: Totally agree with you.
The first-gen devices are always "not-so-perfect";
in fact, they are for the rich people who are impatient.
For example, this Kinect is for those who can afford the 42" HDTV and
has a lot of rooms in their private house (so they can afford to turn one room into "gaming room")
As for me, I don't like M$ and their crappy products;
that's because the quality of their products is usually poor.
Just look at the ridiculously huge amount of xbox returns
(because of hardware problems)
I will wait for competitors (Sony, Nintendo) to come up with something revolutional.
And then for the second or even third gen of this "tech miracle".

so many questions!
Available over 3G?
Movies and TV shows too?
Bit rate of music?
Includes any music youve ripped to your library?
Subscription based or free? (included in the cost of tracks you buy)
If ripped music too, will apple match up tracks to media they have online and just stream, or will we have to upload our library?
I can see an air version of the iPhone coming soon, wont require same amount of space for storage because its always connected to your online media. It will be a wrist watch. :eek:

I really don't know how it is now, but last time I checked Preview, it was missing one important functionality - when I selected any picture from directory to preview, there was no possibility to view the next or previous one from within the application using just arrow keys or space/backspace, enter, whatever.. I always had to select all pictures I would possibly like to see. It was quite annoying. Hope it is finally fixed now?

A buddy of mine bought a 360 in November of last year and his system crapped out on him 2 weeks ago. As of right now it's getting repaired. I'm still not convinced that Microsoft has stepped up their quality yet. Doesn't it make more sense to produce a better quality system than to use cheap parts that'll later be replaced by the same cheap parts when repairing? And how many times can Microsoft keep doing it without losing money? I'm sure Microsoft is losing quite a bit of money on these consoles that have crapped out. :eek:
