I walked into the Covent Garden Apple Store about two weeks ago and they had many iPads in stock, where as Regent Street had none. Just phone any local shops and ask before you go.
(PS The iPad 2s are amazing... enjoy it when you get it!)

Greetings! I live in a blended family (I use mac :apple:, roommate uses pc  - haven't converted her yet). She and I would like to live in harmony and use a shared desktop workstation.
I've hooked all external components (mouse, keyboard, printer) via USB to a Lenovo K33415 Port Replicator. NEC AccuSync LCD also connected to Port Replicator via VGA.
When I plug her PC in, it recognizes all components immediately. My MacBook recognizes all components except the monitor.
Do I have to use a Mini DisplayPort to connect the monitor to the Mac? Or can I make it work as is with the USB?
Thank you sooooo much!!!! :o
Does the port replicator work with displaylink software? that's pretty much the standard for USB video: http://www.displaylink.com/ The os x driver is here: http://www.displaylink.com/support/mac_downloads.php
Note usb video is really slow to respond vs the displayport or dvi or vga because of the limited bandwidth and you will need the built-in screen on that macbook to install the driver but you should be able to watch youtube videos. Also, forget games, it does NO 3d.

Hey folks, I have a couple questions if anyone can help!
1. I've been looking at Logic Studio in the education store for when i go to uni in september, is there any difference or limitations etc buying it through the education store? Its a huuugeee discount for there not to be some kind of differences....
and 2. I want a MIDI keyboard to use with it, and wondered if anyone can recommend a good one? budget is around 150 and id like one with full sized keys, minimum 4 octaves, low latency, velocity sensitive etc
thanks in advance if you can help!

I've tried to edit a couple of categories (most notably, "Storage" which should be a subcategory of "Third-Party Hardware), and the system doesn't let me. Is there something I 'm doing wrong?
If you want Storage to be a subcategory if Third-Party Hardware.
Go to Storage
http://guides.macrumors.com/Category:Storage
Click Edit
Scroll down, and enter into the box whatever text you want associated with the category. If you want to make it a subcategory of of Third-Party Hardware, just added the following:
[[Category:Third-Party Hardware]]

That's a silly read. Especially-
The see a lot of risk in Lair because it's unusual and defies classical categorization by genre.
Way to try and jump on Nintendo's "risk" bandwagon. It isn't a risk, unless the game they have demonstrated in the videos is totally different to what the actual game is.
At this stage it's almost as funny reading what Insomniac said about the PS3, which is equivalanet to Bungie talking about the 360 or Retro about the Wii.
Next dev please.
edit: where are the graphics comments? They're talking about the "limitless Cell", not the "limitless RSX". You're getting your wires crossed OP.

I was thinking of upgrading my August 08 iMac to 10.7 when it releases, but have some software that I am not sure will work and dont want to lose in the upgrade and cant really afford to upgrade the software.
Does Vmware Fusion 3 work, Adobe CS 3, and Microsoft Office Student edition 2008 work on 10.7 Dev preview 2?
Thank you.
Have you checked out www.roaringapps.com

I have heard a few people recommend this one. (http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/php/how-to-create-a-photo-gallery-using-the-flickr-api/)
Also, have you tried resizing the images...? Is it just the fact you have so many?
I'll check that out, thanks.
I think the problem is both the size and qty, but I like to leave them decent size for anyone wanting to download them.

If you do wind up using either iFunBox or iPhoneExplorer, you'll need to add/download "afc2add" in order for them to work FYI

The Mac Mini 2011 is expected to have an Intel Sandy Bridge CPU, Intel integrated graphics and Thunderbolt.
Yeah, i know, this option is most probably, but apple realy likes OpenCL, and who knows ...

I'd rather see an open ended 2D version that utilizes both screens, like Yoshi's Island, and has many moves and animation frames. If the stylus is mandatory then I think I'll pass on this one.
Mmmm, I kind of agree. But I was... what... about 13 the last time I played Ninja Gaiden? I'm very interested. Hopefully continues the saga of fun cut screens and storyline.

Hello,
I just bought an iPad 1 last week. Right now, I don't have it set to sync apps or music with my computer. I wanted to add some music to it, so I selected 4 playlists and clicked apply. Now, I'm getting a message "Are you sure you want to delete the 72 apps on your iPad?"
I want to add some music! Why would this necessitate deleting my apps? Thanks in advance.

Hi there.
A week ago I purchased Booq Sueeze backpack for daily commute, which is later turned out to be wrong choice. It looks cool and can hold things I need, but... here are reasons:
1. The area shoulder straps have cushion is quite short and straps are quite unmovable that it can't fit my shoulder really. Carrying it for just 5-10 mins hurts my shoulder.
2. Too much faithfullness in its name. It's really "squeeze", it really doesn't have play in it (no even a little space/room). It allows to squeeze things, but when the zippers are closed things push each other. In my case, small hair wax case gives pressure my MBP. I don't think it would break the screen of the laptop, but it just doesn't feel good to keep doing it everyday.
Because of these 2 reasons I started to find a nice (ergonomical) backpack again. What I've found nice so far is:
Convertec - Racer Computer Backpack
Briggs and Riley - Glide
Tumi - Arriv backpack
These three.
If you know any good ergonomical backpack which can hold a laptop, or if you could drop some impressions/review if any of you are one of those user I'd appreciate it, especially Briggs&RIley Glide review (Does it have enough space to put water bottle, two A4 sized books, 13" MBP, wallet, small gadgets and small things like hair wax, hand cream...etc).
Sorry for muddly writing I did my best but this isn't my primaly lang...
Thanks!

Why not just pay the $18.00 and get it over with? Honestly, $18.00 isn't bad at all. It's really nothing.

Only half of my rigs have the problem, don't know why... Maybe it is unit specific.
Excellent answer I hadn't thought of that. That's probably exactly the problem. They are probably issuing a new unit that requires the updated client. This unit is probably only issued to specific CPUs and also based on time to complete.

Correct. If you want to keep your current number, however, you can pay $20 to have that number transferred to google voice. Otherwise you will have to manage two numbers (which is what I do) and the entire service is free.
The number I give out is my google voice number, which is connected to my actual cell phone number.
You'll still need talkatone (free app) to make and receive calls from your ipad, if that's something you're interested in, as the Google Voice app allow you do to do that.

The video card is actually worse. A 5750 is actually a 5850m which is every so slightly faster than a 6850m. A 6770m is a bit of a step down.
