Two issues that I would very much appreciate some help with.
First, does anyone know if there is a way to get the original application icons to appear in Finder windows? So that a Word document looks like Word, a pdf file looks like Adobe, Excel like Excel, and so on? Just about all the files have the same generic icon that is meaningless.
SEcond, instead of all the folders up top above the files as in Windows, everything is alphabetised, so that the folders and files are all intermixed, and how many folders there are mixed in with the fiolrs is not immediately apparent.
I have just bought an iMac G5 and am very disappointed in the way the finder works compared to the window equivalent.
Although perhaps there are some settings controls that will fix things?
Any advice appreciated.

Yes Flash is pre-installed, you can disable it or get a plugin to use it when needed.
chrome://plugins/
to disable it, or I just use "FlashControl" to use when needed.

is Skype as good as its hype, or even half as good as its hype?
I've read in Skype-crazy blogs that Skype is supplanting text IM in many businessworld circles. Is that true? Or just in certain communities?
also:
1) what is 56K performance
2) how hard is it *really* to pay for, and dial from skype to phone?

Bought it with my MacBook Pro last night. It's still sealed in the shrinkwrap.

Will also consider trades for a 160GB Apple TV.

Your best bet is to tinker around with the examples (https://github.com/BigZaphod/Chameleon/tree/master/Examples).

2 weeks isn't that long to wait :) Be careful who you order from online as there are a lot of cheats out there. Try doing a google search for ipad 2 real time inventory. You will probably have your best bet at target if you aren't going to buy online. Your other bet would be to go to an apple store at like 7 am and wait on a Wednesday. Good luck.
+1 - two weeks is a drop in the bucket compared to what it was.

Okay I'm using the Lion Developers preview, all legit. When I try and open applications that I've moved from the Snow Leopard partition to Lion I just get a error telling me that the app could not be opened as it is not compatible. This happens with Apple products such as iWork and iLife, but some third party apps still work! Obviously this is not surprising and will doubtless be fixed, but will the whole OS be updated to be able to run these apps or will we have to upgrade applications separately in order to be able to run them :)
Cheers x
You don't move apps from one partition with one OS to another partition with a different OS. Ain't gonna work. Instead, reinstall iWork/iLife using the supplied DVDs.
On mine, I've yet to find a single app that is "not compatible" with DP2.

Bummer deal with the insurance.
Go for a PB -- you can keep your portability and add firewire HDs for greater storage when you're at home. Of course, if you really can do without the portability (i.e., it won't drive you crazy to not be able to take the tech with you), then it probably makes better financial sense to get the iMac. Personally, I'd go totally nuts if I didn't have my PB ... it goes with me everywhere :)
Good luck with your decision.

What plug to you have on the end of the air? If you're not using the 3 prong one, you're not grounded. That might be the source of your noice, if the usb box is usb powered.
What's truly bizarre is I get this whether or not the Air is plugged into AC or running on battery so it isn't about a grounded plug.

Really :-) look again
Wow! Glad I went and looked! Best $.99 I have spent in a while!
Yet another reason why a JBed iPad is a must. I feel sorry for those with stock iPads.
Thanks!!

Dell ultrasharp lineup. The u2311h offers the best bang for the buck. If you absolutely need 16:10 aspect ratio instead of 16:9 you can go with the u2410 but the jump in price is quite significant.

How could I skip the processor verify in order to install the new Lion beta in a CoreDuo MacBook 1,1.
:apple: Hardware specs: 160 Gb., CoreDuo 2 Ghz, 2 Gb RAM.
Any help will be much appreciated!
By the way: I do not have another mac with a Core2Duo -or later- processor.
Thanks

Yes! I see that is a problem now ... thanks, Intell.
But, on the Redmond Pie website (http://www.redmondpie.com/jailbreak-4.3.2-ios-iphone-4-with-pwnagetool-4.3.2-bundle-how-to-tutorial/), that was the file linked to in Step 1. So how do I find the correct bundle? I am unable to locate it on their site.
Thanks!
