Thanks everyone!
kidwithdimplez - my understanding is third party apps can only sync over wifi, so not over 3G/cloud unfortunately.

Do you guys recommend getting the car kit mounting bracket for iphone 4 for in-car use and hands-free?
I don't take phone calls in the car (in fact no ones calls me :( ) but, for GPS, I just reply on voice guidance, my iphone is in leather pouch.
Would an car kit be better ? and what would be the norm ? charging while driving or not?
Also, i've seen a separate TomTom car kit app but no idea what this one is for..

What do you have the resolution set to on the Mini? The monitor is trying to tell you to set it to 1280x1024, rather than whatever it is right now.

I have this back and like it, except for the fact that it's SLIGHTLY thicker than original. I was wondering the same thing about the sheilding though. How easy is it to get off and put back on. Obviously the back is extremely easy but curious about the shielding...

We had to consider other options for back-up.
After lugging around a MBP we broke down and got one of these:
http://www.nextodi.com/product/NVS2500_en.html
We went with the older 2500 since we dont use P2 here.
Mostly CFs for Canons and RED MX.
As far as practical back-up, gameface has it on the nose :)

Hey guys I need your help again.
I have some footage of a friend shaving her head for cancer.
Two cameras were used to get the footage.
One was HD and the other was miniDV.
My friend was wearing an orange smock when losing the hair and because of the different formats, the oranges are different.
Is there anything simple you would suggest in order to get them relatively the same colour?
Many thanks in advance!

I love Notebook view for taking notes in class. However, I do prefer pencil and paper and my own style of shorthand.
In writing essays and reports, draft view is best for me.

I can't figure out what the current avatar is doing. Biting something? Spitting something out? And what is it?
It's fascinating to watch though.
I thought it was him chewing on an iPod, hahaha, I love it...:)

I was thinking of buying an iPod nano online from the Apple store.
The thing is that I never bought an Apple product online before.
I want to know exactly how a credit card charge on the Apple store breaks down; if there are hidden fees, etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks for your suggestion, unfortunately that is not the problem.
I know my entries are correct under the automouter and the permissions are 775. But for some reason the server doesn't let other users access the share.
The NAS holding the shares is attached to the same OD as the as the OS X Server.
I suspect that it is a bug with OS X server, as other machines are able to correctly provide access to the shares.
I've given up on this, I don't believe this is a product Apple really supports anyways.

You should consider getting a laptop privacy screen from 3M. They are expensive, but if you can find one that is the right size they will both protect your screen and your information from peering eyes!

Hello all!
So here is my dilemma, I'm connecting an iPad to a mac mini via an app called Screens which uses VNC. When a computer is connected via VNC it doesn't want to go to sleep or activate screensaver. Well I need that to happen. I found a workaround in an app called PowerManager, which has a function that states "run script after ___ amount of inactivity, and it works and starts the screensaver even while connected to VNC! but it is $50 and I have to put it on multiple machines. I only need this one function, so I was hoping to write an applescript that basically does the following,
after 8min of inactivity run screensaver.app
and that script obviously has to be running continuously.
So yeah, any help would be much appreciated, I haven't done too much scripting but I can follow instructions.
Thank you!

Does anybody have the Itunes CD that comes with the ipods? Preferrably nano/5G video. If so, is there anybody who would be willing to send it out to me? If you really want I guess I could thow a buck or two over to cover the stamp.

The MBP uses 2.5" form factors HDs, I would assume so does the MacBook.

Ive been doing similar research in to this,
TRIM is basically clearing a block of information properly, which your OS doesnt do, it just deletes it from your window and allocates the block to be written over. But when this happens on an ssd it means that it takes one cycle to delete the information properly, and one cycle to write what it wants in there.
Massively affecting the speed of the unit.
And all TRIM does is make sure the block is properly empty when it should be.
It is looking like Lion is going to have TRIM support anyway, just it 'may' only be for apple ssd's but there is always a work around, even now you can get a TRIM enabler on this forum.
Plus if its just gonna be a pure boot up drive like mine, and user folder is on mechanical drives, its not really gonna be rewriting anyway, just write once and then a whole load of reading. :)
And from what i can see the ssd is an amazing upgrade, you've only got to search youtube for "mac ssd bootup" and you'll see all sorts geeks showing off there new ssd speeds. lol.
Anyway. hope that helps.
