I downloaded it using HiDownload but it just kept going past the marker. Finally I hit stop, but I'm left with an invalid file.
I've tried many-a-time to download the quicktime streams, with a large variety of mac and pc software. Every time it has left me stumped. I'f you really cant watch it (i.e demand is too high/you have a slow connection etc.) wait at least 3 days until most of the fans have watched it and showed their friends, set your quicktime preferences to a 128k/256k connection so you get a lower quality but faster stream, and watch it. It worked for me last WWDC and again in January.
Luckily this time im on a free uncapped DSL line at a Telecom wireless Hotspot in the Auckland CBD. Worked flawlessly :D

80GB External drives are being sold for 30-40$ at most. I�m sure they can offer it next to the 10 DVDs package or something that�s offered for Final Cut for 40$ more. Far easier and faster to install from an external drive than 10 DVDs. A lot of huge packages are starting to come in the external drives instead of 10 DVDs.
A 500GB usb 2 drive is around $50.

If they do something like that, I'd expect that iLife and iWork '07 won't work with Tiger and that would be a shame.
I wouldn't make that assumption. Just because iLife ships only with new Macs of the same model year doesn't mean that you're stuck with iLife '05 on your 2005 Mac. It could easily be the case that iLife will be optimized for Leopard with enhanced features, but will still be compatible with Tiger (remember the days when software was optimized for Altivec but didn't require it?).
Of course, it's not impossible that iLife '07 will be Leopard-only, especially if it doesn't add anything to iLife '06 functionality. I can't think of any obvious new functions for iLife to add. More themes, some reorganization, etc. would be new features, but not breaking any new ground.

It would make no sense for Apple to go with a CDMA technology though. GSM is used by almost everyone in the world bar a few markets. With a GSM phone they have the whole European market for phones for example, with a CDMA phone they have a market limited to mainly Verizon and the few other carriers around the world who use CDMA (IIRC, some in S. Korea, some in Brazil and perhaps some other in North and South America).
Apple most likely don't want to have to make loads of different phones, so I'd expect the iPhone to be GSM Quad Band, therefore covering the largests possible market for mobile phones.

I had a laptop with a magnesium alloy case back in the days before I became a Mac Convert. It was a Sony VAIO 505-TR, and was a very nice light machine. One of the benefits of the magnesium case over the aluminium Powerbook case is the magnesium case never corroded like my 12" PB case has.

I think Leopard is farther away than many speculate. If Apple really wanted to release it right in January, you would think they would want a bigger hoopla to build the hype, which would have to happen almost immediately. Even then, you would think as neared completion we probably would have gotten a rumor or leak concerning the supposed top secret features by now. While I have nothing but gut feeling to go on, I think it'll be *really* previewed at MacWorld with a release, maybe March or April, possibly into May.
And that would make more sense. Let Vista's dust settle, let the bitching commence, maybe even a couple highly publicized virus or spyware incidents, then swoop in with Leopard, showing that even after MS had 5 years of development to rip off OSX, Apple is still ahead of them. plus, apple will benefit from all the 'new os' money that ms will surely pour into its launch and also gain:
-knowledge from which vista features are selling most.
-get all existing mac users even more antsy for a new os.
-let the dust settle / not get lost in the hype around vista.
-vista will seem older and leopard newer, when leopard launches later.
-many of vista's features will be shown to already exist in current osX.
its also interesting that the spring is traditionally a quieter sales period for electronics. by launching leopard in the spring, they can continue to do what apple is so good at doing... choreographing launches spread out around the year. thus keeping up the brand hype and strong sales year-round.
so look to macworld for other great news...

Here here. They are even encoding HD 16x9 TV Shows in 4x3 - unbelieveable. For last year being the year of HD, the iTunes Store Video Encode Department apparently didn't get the memo.
Until they come out with an iPod with a widescreen display I don't see the point. The display on the current iPod is small enough as it is. Unless they address this I can't see downloading any videos.

and to the other guy, I think it's perfectly legitimate to announce a new MBP enclosure with a DL superdrive at the WWDC. I mean it's the pro model laptop. Developers would definitely be using it. And they can burn things faster! :D

I like the title! I am fortunate (or unfortunate depending on how you see it ) of actually having the name Job. I remember when I bought my first mac many moons ago and actually thinking that his name was pronounced the same as mine except for the "s" at the end. :p

You are right. However, Apple continued to use the G4 in lots of products while still selling other G5 based products.

Some departments at some universities actually recommend Macs over PCs. But, like Mac purchases in general, that's a minority.
