Oh it's on. It's nowhere near as big as MacWorld San Francisco or MacWorld Paris, but Mac Expo London is pretty good for those in the UK that don't want to travel too far. �12 per person on the door, but the first 5000 to order in advance got tickets for free, (including me, off there tomorrow).
From the Green point of view, I would want Apple to be as green as the fruit they name themselves after. I am all for recycling, minimising energy consumption and many other environmental issues. I don't however want to have to buy some godawful PC just on the basis of their green record. For example, why do all the Apple computers have to ship with the box, wrapped in a plastic bag, surrounded in polystyrene, inside another box? Surely Apple can reduce the amount and layers of packaging and make another smaller step to a decent green record.
Hope they're back tomorrow and I can have a small chat with them at some point.

I just hope they manage to keep it as cool and quiet as our current mba 11" (1,6 Ghz C2D)... I prefer quiet computing over ultraspeed in a mba, for shure!

I am not really crazy about this design. Having to slide the click-wheel down every time I need to use my phone doesn't sound like fun (plus, what would this thing look like open? ...what I'm picturing is ugly).
I was hoping for an iPod Nano form factor with a numerical keypad... nice an simple.
do you dial numbers every time you use your phone? I have a samsung t809, and i don't slide it down most of the time, unless i want to answer it that way. It's kinda fun, but it's not required to answer the phone.

With the decent graphics and these C2D's they make the iMac a formiddable machine. Alot of PowerMac's are going to be replaced by these new iMac's i feel. Probably Apple's most impressive, solid and reliable machine at the moment
Unless Leopard is designed to make full use of the extra threads/cores available on the quad-core Mac Pro. Like that OS someone mentioned earlier in the thread that saw 60-70% performance gains when the cores were doubled.
I think the Mac Pro is fairly safe as a workstation, but fewer people will use it as a simple desktop now that iMacs are so competitive.

What's the idea of DUI checkpoints anyway? Can't police officers just pull over drivers they suspect of DUI if they catch them while on regular patrol? That's how it works here at least. Much less predictable and it negates the utility of the apps in question..

I actually agree. Pull 'em. It may be censorship, but it's dangerous not to.
Seems to me if it's NOT censorship to prohibit yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre, it shouldn't be censorship to ban yelling "DUI stop" on the crowded highways we stage our lives on daily (see what I did there?). ;)

Or if they want the simple satisfaction of having a C2D laptop on order, they can always pre-order one at Dell, HP, etc., then cancel that pre-order when the MBP C2D are announced. That way, in spirit, they can have a mac Core 2 Duo machine on pre-order right now. :)

I'm still loving mine too :) I did, however, just put it up for sale on CL though. Just to see if I get any bites. I'm not going to worry if I do or don't sell it though. It's still an amazing machine
thought about doing that. or maybe a trade + cash for and "old" macbook. something that would hold be back to do bare necessities, save enough money for .....:eek:....

A world without Books, CD's or DVD's for sale in charity shops to help fund services in need.
Well maybe we can save a few trees with this idea? Our rainforests are disappearing at alarming rates, so if I have to sacrifice not having a book in my hands for this and have a eBook instead. So be it.
A world there you cannot give a CD, DVD, Book etc that you no longer want to a family friend as a gift.
You can still gift ebooks and music.
A world where you cannot sell on a Book, CD, DVD, Game to get a little bit of money back, perhaps to buy a new thing you want.
Be the first one to be innovative and come up with an online marketplace where it is legal to sell, buy, and trade electronic digital files. Bet this would make you some money, you can thank me later.
This to me seems where the industry wants to take us.
Everything is purchased by the individual, can only be used by the individual and locked totally to them, so it can never be passed on, given away, or sold by yourself to anyone else.
Can no one else see this is where it COULD go if we all just "go along with it"
This is a good thing in my opinion, better for the environment, and technology is taking us in directions that we not have been able to imagine years ago.
