Simply Computing on West Broadway are also selling it at 6PM.
They're staying open until 8PM.
I wish I could go but I have major plans that night.
Given that it's not an Apple store I'm sure they won't be giving out the t-shirts though. Us Canadians don't get any of that stuff. Being the poor cousins. Eh?
Cheers.

Unfortuantly, the only answer I have read is your going to have to put your internal DVD unit back in and install it this way and switch back. Pain the ass but won't take that long.

Largely credited by some to both a man at the Naval Postgraduate School (see video below which oddly seems to be the embodiment of the "Windows" guy from the Apple commercials and Microsoft's dryness) and another man in Seattle running his own micro-computer business (see wiki link), a very early precursor to DOS was first partially developed at the school, starting just a few years after this video was made, at the navy school's department of engineering. Wow, how time flies.
I thought you would enjoy this and the modern equipment and who would have really thought that two college dropout hippies around the time of one of the many unsuccessful "DOS" development phases in Northern California would go on and make products/concepts in a garage far superior to the resources of the US Navy and a computer company up in Redmond, WA? :)
I belonged to a PC users club and when I taught a MS Windows networking class, a few students there wondered why I was one of those Macintosh/Apple freaks. Well, this brings the brilliance and vision of the early genius of Woz and Jobs to light and it irks me when a computer newbie tells me that Bill Gates invented the computer and the operating system. All I can say is that Bill is the one who most ca$hed in.

Been there, done that. :)
Look at Activity Monitor to see what processes you have running. Be sure you're looking at "All Processes" and not just "My Processes". Also, use MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/) to search the forum for other threads with this same question, to see what others found to be the cause.

Hello all
just another bit of trouble from Redmond I guess.... but it is annoying....isn't everything from that company? All of a sudden when i open a WMP movie it starts and then I get a message...over the screen..."this file may not play correctly because it was compressed by using a codec that is not supported"....
well thats kind of strange because it was fully supported and fine this morning!
It seems to have affected some Quicktime files as well...I have done the permissions check, rebooted, and downloaded a few new movie trailers and they seem fine...all of iTunes MP3's are good as well!
I am wary of all the recent little "funny" festive movies I am getting via email from my festive PC Windows friends ..could I have been infected by these???
Merry Christmas...here's a virus for Christmas from my stinking Dell computer.
Please help me with this I don't want this to get any farther into my Mac!
G5 iMac, 1.8, 768 DDR RAM, 20 inch.
Thank you...and Happy Holidays

I've used iPlayer Downloader for a couple of years but it's now stopped working. Anyone else having these problems?
Does anyone know of another iPlayer download program?
I'm missing it too .. we used to put BBC programs on the kids ipods for car journeys but nothing downloads any more .. I've not seen that anyone is working on an update either *sigh*
It may be the end of it this time :(

Blu-ray drives are problematic in the Mac Pro. Many reports of them constantly waking up the MP from sleep, or checking loudly for a disc every few minutes when there is none.
So even if they were the same price, I'd stay away from Blu if you don't need it.

..at work we currently have a 'dashboard' (on a 50" plasma) displaying several graphs running on Excel which are fed from numerous databases (oracle/SQL) and updated every five minutes (usually from a stored proc. call) - they do the job but look terrible.
So I'm looking at creating something a bit more pleasing to the eye but I'm struggling to decide what to do it in - currently my two best options appear be Silverlight or HTML/CSS using jQuery visualizer plugin.
The HTML/jQuery option looks easier to do, but looks pretty basic. Silverlight looks like it has great potential but it would appear to get the best results I would have to purchase some external software (something like visifire). Purchasing something isn't totally out of question, but I'd much prefer to code something from scratch or have some free plugins. I'm not particularly well versed in either, and I'm using this as a training exercise for myself...just though I better add that...
Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated
Also..I've found things like this http://cesso.org/Samples/ChartBuilder/ which seems like a good base to start on...

At the moment, everything I have is stored on a 2TB drive which is backed up every night, sometimes twice a day.
There will be one numbered and named project folder corresponding to its details on a spreadsheet, all of the following go into this one folder:
Emails, quotes, invoices, print specs etc all get saved into a Correspondence folder. Pencil scamps get scanned at 600ppi and saved as greyscale high quality JPGs. Intermediate InDesign or Quark files get tossed, except for any Illustrator or Photoshop files that I can perhaps reuse layers from later... and they go into a Working files folder.
Signoff PDF proofs get stashed in the Proofs folder. Final output files get collected or packaged into separate folders with linked images and fonts. Press PDFs go into a Press PDF folder.
Once all collated, the job folder is compressed into a disk image with its number and project name, dumped into the Design Archive and indexed using CD Finder so I can quickly retrieve any file just by keyword or file name.
Hard copies (usually three of each) go into boxes and stored horizontally in the closet. Every year or so, I weed these out, keeping only the best stuff that might end up in the back of a print portfolio at some point... I have to be strict with myself because a lot of the stuff I've done in the past are publications, sometimes with hundreds of pages. They get really heavy and take up a lot of space.
Also, any decent hard copies (one in eight, say) get photographed with a DSLR from a number of angles, spreads and covers, against a white background for possible inclusion into portfolio.

I just bought an iPod 2G of eBay for 30 bucks. According to the description it probably just needs a new battery so I bought one and a firewire cable. I assume all iPod generations should work with the current iTunes as my 3G does with no issues. I'm sure if they stopped iTunes support for any older models we would definitely hear about it.

Hi, I've just bought a Verbatim 2TB external desktop hard drive that came pre-formatted as NTFS. For some reason, I cannot format it as HFS+ using Disk Utility or any other disk management software for Mac. I can format it as exFAT via DU and exFAT and NTFS in Windows 7. Any idea why it won't work with HFS+?

Thanks - ok what about using something like mail or entourage? Can those apps run at the same time as Outlook? And can I use them to access my 2003 mail (even though it's only accessible via OWA)?

If it's an Apple Pro mouse, it might be a worn cord next to the mouse casing.
