Then again, if you can afford said thousands, just buy the bluetooth keyboard separately and keep the wired as a spare!
This. I had my BT module act up once, so if I didn't have the wired one in the closet, I would have been stuck until Best Buy opened the following day to buy a wired one.

No wifi issue on either my iPad 1 or 2
What band is your wifi? b? g? n?
What channel are you using?
Have you done a frequency traffic survey?
Have you tried changing the channel of your router?
Do you have a 2.4 GHz wireless telephone? Is it one of those "broad spectrum" phones that keeps scanning the various channels, using the one with the least traffic?
I apologize for my English :
It's a box with wifi MIMO 802.11 g and I have no problem with my Iphone 3GS.
So, I have to explain to you what I did.
Following these problems, I called Apple and finaly, after multiple tests, they agreed to change my iPad.
When I went to the Apple Store to exchange, I used the time waiting to do some tests with the application "speedtest". The results is that There was a bandwidth of 10 MB and Youtube has worked flawlessly on my Ipad, even in HD. Home, with a bandwidth of 2 MB video playback is impossible, while it works perfectly on a PC connected wirelessly.
The tests with "speedtest" revealed that the WiFi signal on the ipad was very unstable at the Apple Store (like home), except that, with a flow rate of 10 megabytes, the rise and fall of the signal are more easily unnoticed than with a connection of 2 MB. That, added to how YouTube manages bandwidth for videos causes this problems that can't be solved for people who have connection under 4 or 5 Mb. I said that I made tests with the old and the new iPad.
My conclusion is this: The IPAD has a bad wireless connection (you can check by running tests regularly and storing results, you will see by yourself) and it does not forgive when you read video with a bandwidth of less than 5 MB I think YouTube is well aware, since all this time, but they don't do nothing for that... And we? We paid for the stuff that works evil, it is our problem... What else ?
So I resigned myself...
I think the problem will be solved with a tablet that has a reliable and stable wireless connection, maybe a galaxy tab... I don't know...
In fact, I sell a Ipad1 if anyone cares? It is new, it has two months, I just change it ! You can contact me by private message ! :D

Yeah, Office will stay. They said they are committed for at least 5 more years. Office is probably the only Mac software they develop and actually make a decent profit on.
The MBU is one of the more profitable parts of Microsoft, and they want to keep it for the money, for the leverage on Apple, and to avoid the immediate anti-trust lawsuit they'd face if they refused to support OSX.
There's lots of benefits to keeping the MBU alive and lots of downsides to killing it out of spite.
VPC was never really part of the MBU.

My iMac G5 is really starting to show its age. I can't decide if I want a 27" iMac or a 13" MacbookAir. I don't really need an optical drive. I use it to import CD's to iTunes. I can always do that on anther Mac and transfer the files later.

I believe option that is left now is to wait for Jailbreak and then actually dig inside the ipa and try to see if its possible to spoof their check
I'm trying to see if it will work with the iPhone connected with VPN and iPad tethered using personal hotspot. The only problem is I can't change the IP range On the iPhone to match my home network. I'd have to change my home network to match the IP range given out on the iPhone. Then test it.

10:15am EST, OS9 & IE 5.1 -- both left & right columns not displaying on the front page. their space is still there, but empty. there's just white space flanking the middle column.
also, is this the best way to alert the powers that be of these design issues? (and, more importantly) do the powers that be need/want to be alerted about this stuff?

Wanting to upgrade my stock 5400 rpm hd in a 2010 mac mini to a SSD. Thinking of OWC mercury extreme pro 60 GB. Will only use for boot/apps. The thing I am curious about is I play steam games(L4D 1 and 2), and am always downloading extra addon campaigns for these games. Would 60 GB be enough for this?

What is your budget and what and where exactly do you want to use the camera for?
And a camera with using flash memory like SD cards is better suited if you move around a lot.
But know, that when transferring the videos from the camera to iMovie, the video gets transcoded, meaning it will be converted to use a proper video editing codec, thus it will take quite some time depending on the CPU speed of your Mac.

Hi all,
Here's a little back story about my setup, you can probably skip if you don't want to read it:
-----
I recently bought my first macbook pro, 13" 2011 model. I'm a windows developer so I needed to run windows on it, so what I did was put an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD in the optibay and installed windows on it, and cloned my OSX from the 5400RPM drive that comes with the macbook onto a new 500gb 7200RPM drive. So I have two separate drives for the two separate operating systems.
I had all sorts of trouble setting this up, because the 2011 MBP's don't boot from USB, I had to take my SSD out of the optibay and replace the DVD Drive, put the SSD in the main bay, install windows then swap it back.
-----
It mostly worked though, I could swap between the OS's using bootcamp, or reefit - both worked. However last week all of a sudden I just couldn't boot into windows, I got a black screen with a blinking cursor. As this is my work PC, and my superdrive was at home, I couldn't boot from a windows disk to do a startup recovery. I wasted a day trying to workout how I could repair this from within OSX, mostly screwing around with vmware/parallels to try get it to run a repair from a windows disk to no avail. I went home, swapped the drives again, and ran the repair.
However now my boot camp won't work, I have to use reefit to open up windows when I want to boot. Occasionally it just won't boot from reefit at all either. I tried going into boot camp assistant but there is no way to repair the boot camp partition without wiping the drive, which is a pain.
On top of this, I've got a number of other problems:
- Windows on my SSD won't hibernate or sleep without crashing windows. Is this normal? is there a way to fix this?
- I now can't set it to boot into windows by default.
- On some networks (ie at uni) when I swap from mac to windows, it wont let me join the wifi network, I'm guessing this has to do with mac addresses and security? Has anyone else come across this issue?
- battery life is pretty average on both operating systems, more so on windows, is there any enhancements to windows other than what you would normally do on a laptop?
I really need to get a reliable system setup, I can't afford to go into work and have my laptop not boot into windows. Can anyone give me some advice? Should I try taking an image of windows and setting up the boot camp partitions again on the SSD? Or perhaps I need to just shell out for a 256gb SSD and put both windows and osx on that...

The Corrupt Font message could be because there's ...er... a corrupt font?
Given that the font name appears to be a double-byte format, chances are that it is one of the OSX Asian fonts. Assuming this is an English operating system and you don't need extended language support>
Walk her through this on the 'phone. You can go into the Library:Fonts and the System:Library:Fonts and safely remove any font with a name that is in non-Roman type, and those with names like Geeza, Li, Hai and similar. Toss 'em into another folder or outright trash them. Then restart and try again.
Cocktail might not be the right tool to put in the hands of a 2 month new Mac user. A support problem is, you don't have any idea what she did to the machine with Cocktail.
Also stress to Sis that she should not move or rename any unfamiliar sounding folders or files - she could do damage to the OS.
If she continues to have problems, Archive and Install with OSX would not be bad, followed by reinstall of Office and the Apple and Microsoft updates.
Thanks
Trevor
